EL Global Markets Digital Commerce Leader

As Digital Commerce Leader you are responsible to develop and execute strategy to drive profitable online channel growth. This entails all aspects of the e-commerce business including customer offer and brand experience, commercial calendar, sales, digital platform, and digital development (web, digital product pages, CPQ, commerce platform). Across current and future channels (indirect channels – distribution and retail, direct channels, pure players - e.g., Amazon, Alibaba etc.). The role is crucial for ABB to transform its go-to-market strategy regarding changing customer expectations towards new online experiences, increased request for digital tools. Digital Commerce Leader acts as the owner of the product “ABB Electrification Customer Experience”.

Your responsibilities

  • Responsible for ABB / Electrification Digital Commerce business (e.g., web-shop, marketplace with full accountability including organizational structure, processes, and tools.
  • Support Electrification business growth and efficiency targets ROPO (Research Online, Purchase Offline) and Online transactions for all channels).
  • Management accountability over the provided investment budget towards efficient execution and business growth.
  • Define and set the ABB / EL digital transformation strategy for a new go to market approach towards digital commerce. Enable all channels for digital transformation, enforce channel shift / activities wherever required to achieve business plan. Drive direct selling and distributor business for digital transformation, e.g., eBusiness, DES (digitally enabled sales) etc. Support ABB’s distributors with digital programs (e.g., eBusiness). Explores new eCommerce trends and platforms to stay ahead of technological advancements and implement as needed as per the Digital Commerce strategy in place. Responsible for E2E digital front-office transformation of ABB / Electrification across all channels (direct, distributor, online), from research to transaction and the entire life cycle. This includes structure, processes and tools spanning from first engagement with customers to the re-purchase of products to redefine the ABB / Electrification go-to-market operating model with main focus on digital. Deliver a brand-new customer experience implementing all required digital touchpoints along the entire customer journey and across all channels. Provide all the necessary tools and enablers for digital interaction. (Enablers: CRM, PIM, DAM, Analytics. Customer Journey: collaborations with Digital Marketing Function, Portal, CPQ, Sales enablement, and content management systems).
  • Builds ABB / Electrification brand awareness with technology that engages target buyers, fostering stronger customer relationships. Builds credibility and authority with customers and internal/external stakeholders through extensive knowledge and expertise of eCommerce solutions. Builds brand integrity through customer engagement and feedback.
  • Set up the digital commerce governance model, as well as definition of specific/measurable Digital Commerce KPIs and targets, aligning all global stakeholders. Outlines Digital Commerce targets and ensures these are achieved. Reviews and evaluates results upon completion of the activities.
  • Responsible for the delivery and execution of eCommerce platforms and technology. Drives online presence via digital marketing activities in strong collaborations with Divisions and Marketing Functions. Work closely with the FACE team to evaluate and implement eBusiness commercial offerings across the company. Partners closely with IS, comm ops/configurator, digital marketing, and Divisions functional teams to deploy a consistent, contemporary, and enhanced customer experience, to ensure full alignment of Business in customer experience and strategy.
  • Together with IT/IS organization, co-own and functionally drive the deployment of the IT suite that includes EDI tools / CBOL, Empower platform etc. The audit of the complete IT stack will be required as a starting point in the role.
  • Establish a world-class digital commerce team for ABB / Electrification and drive the change throughout ABB market organization, with definition of Digital Commerce Competencies Model. Partnership with HR team and EL Academy in upgrading/developing of Digital Commerce Competencies at global/local level, producing/delivering the necessary trainings.
  • The role has direct responsibility (solid-line) for the global Digital Commerce team and functional responsibility (dotted-line) for the regional/country Digital Commerce team. Collaborate with internal resources and external services when needed. In collaboration with HRBP, ensure that the area of responsibility is properly organized, staffed, skilled and directed. Coaches, motivates, and develops direct and indirect subordinates within HR policies. Drives and ensures know-how sharing and cross-collaboration. Build strong team member collaboration.

Your background

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or information systems. MBA preferred.
  • 15 or more years of professional experience gained, ideally, in a global, cross-cultural and cross-functional work environment, preferably with demonstrated experience with B2B and B2C eCommerce systems, data warehouses and PIM, Dam.
  • Excellent Project Management skills and demonstrated experience in managing activities within a complex environment and with a matrix organization and also capability to create solid internal networking.
  • Organization and planning skills with attention to accuracy and detail, high degree of self-motivation and ability to work independently in a fast-changing industry.
  • Proven outstanding interpersonal and communication skills and demonstrate a strong customer orientation and a strong collaborative spirit.
