EMEA Finance Business Process Owner - Tax

Location - flexible within EMEA

Job Summary
  • The BPO is primarily responsible for partnering with the Eaton tax team in the delivery of accounting information required for Tax purposes within the region. Specifically this will entail providing strategic direction, coordinating execution with internal (Eaton) stakeholders and external stakeholders, driving accounting policy, ensuring all compliance requirements are met in a timely manner and driving standardization & simplification across the region. Further key responsibilities will include the formulation of a document retention plan, system selection, designing of a framework to allow the centralization of service provision.
Job Responsibilities
  • Lead the delivery of accounting information required for Tax purposes within the region:
  • Responsible for the document retention strategy around data required for tax purposes
  • Responsible for the control environment around data required for tax purposes
  • Responsible for the provision of data required for tax purposes (both direct and indirect taxes) either internally or to external parties
  • Responsible for assisting Eaton’s tax accounting team with data needs where appropriate including US GAAP to Statutory adjustments
  • Support ad hoc issue resolution and Tax projects as appropriate
  • Support the regional Accounting project (Janus) as necessary to ensure its successful delivery, & drive standardization, simplification, automation & centralization wherever possible
  • Support ongoing/annual legal changes which impact Tax
  • Ensure all tax year-end reporting requirements are met and support all Tax audits, working to streamline the audit process wherever possible
  • Support all Tax activities related to M&A activity
  • Manage the customer relationship with the vendor of any software package selected to help with the deliverables above.
Qualifications

Qualifications

Education Level Required
  • Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) from an accredited institution or equivalent professional degree; additional recognized professional accounting qualification and Big 4 audit experience would be advantageous
  • Strong English language capabilities is essential, additional language skills would be advantageous.
Years And Area Of Experience Required
  • 10+ years’ experience in an accounting or tax environment preferably.
Technical Knowledge
  • Microsoft Office (particularly Excel, Outlook)
  • Previous experience of statutory tax accounting & compliance would be essential.
Soft Skills
  • Excellent Communication (Written and Verbal) and interpersonal skills,
  • Attention to detail,
  • Data driven mindset,
  • Ability to build and maintain positive customer relationships,
  • Drive for results (achieving key on time delivery metrics) and collaborative style,
