Your role

Do you like to take the high-level view? Are you interested in technology trends, passionate about learning and energized to drive change in a global team? Do you have some architectural experience and would like to take it to the enterprise level?

As an enterprise architect, you’ll play an important role in making Tech a differentiator and ensuring we achieve both business and technology objectives by being actively involved in transformation initiatives across the bank.

We’re looking for an Enterprise Architect to:

  • take a modern agile approach to Enterprise Architecture – with a particular emphasis on cloud native and the full technology lifecycle
  • work with stakeholders to syndicate and define digital architecture roadmaps and digital principles
  • analyze architectural data, uncover opportunities and formulate pragmatic recommendations
  • contribute to initiatives to deliver architectural solution proposals
  • create templates and processes for the organization to use in their architecture management
  • actively contribute towards developing a world-class architecture function

Your team

You’ll be working in the Enterprise Architecture team which is part of the Group Chief Technology Office and be based in Zürich (other UBS locations will also be considered). We are responsible for driving the translation of CDIO (Chief Digital Information Officer) strategy, standards and principles into architecture for UBS globally. We work closely with a federated organization of CTOs and IT architects aligned with every area of UBS Technology. In addition the team directly supports the CTO for Operations to define and drive the corresponding domain architecture and technology agenda.

Your expertise

  • university degree in computer science, computer information systems or related field of study
  • strong knowledge and track record of enterprise architecture
  • experience of financial services such as trading, asset management, risk management, investments
  • experience in creating enterprise or solution architectures for major applications or change programs
  • a passion to continuously challenge and improve existing methods, working practices of an organization
  • excellent communication and collaboration skills, able to partner with technical experts as well as senior business stakeholders and present complex concepts in a simple way
  • knowledge in TOGAF and IT development methodologies such as Safe are advantageous but not critical
  • some experience of cloud native technologies and agile development
  • fluent in English, other languages such as German is a plus
