Mold Engineering
Manager (m/w/d)

Swiss-based Muller Technology is a global leader in injection mold making, robotics,
and automation technology to produce thin-wall plastic packaging used in the food, medi-
cal, and other industries

We are searching for our site in Conthey:

Key Engineering Responsibilities:
• Analyze customer requirements and

specifications for parts and products.
  • Create 3D models and 2D drawings of

molds using computer aided design
(CAD) software

  • Ensure that molds comply with customer
standards and specifications
  • Work closely with the sales department
and other engineers and manufacturing
teams to optimize the design for cost,
quality and production efficiency
  • Working with the Mold Qualification
Team Leader and the Production Manag-
er Molds, will resolve technical issues on
our molds that arise during manufactur-
ing, assembly, testing and production.
Participate in the testing and validation
of molds to ensure they meet quality and
performance standards
  • Collaborate with the sales and marketing
department in costing and developing
new concepts
  • Continually research new technologies
and industry trends and apply them to
the mold design process. Attend confer-
ences and trade shows to keep abreast
of new technologies and industry trends

Management responsibilities:
• Define the goals and objectives of the

department in line with the overall ob-
jectives of the organization

  • Manage and supervise the department’s
staff, including recruitment, training and
performance evaluation
  • Manage departmental budgets, in-
cluding forecasting and monitoring
expenditure
  • Develop and maintain departmental
policies and procedures
  • Lead cross-functional teams and
projects to achieve departmental and
organizational goals
  • Manage and identify risks and take ap-
propriate action to mitigate them
  • Continually seek opportunities for
improvement and innovation within the
department
  • Ensure that the department’s activities
comply with relevant laws, regulations,
and industry standards

Profile:
• General and technical knowledge

required
  • Degree in mechanical engineering or
equivalent
  • Good knowledge of injection mold con-

struction and manufacturing processes
is required

  • Knowledge of injection molding pro-
cesses (a plus)
  • Good knowledge of written and spoken
French, good knowledge of written and
spoken English and German (optional)
  • Very good CAD experience (preferred
CATIA 3DEXPERIENCE)
  • Good experience in FEM (preferred
MOLDFLOW or other fluid simulator)
  • Good experience with Microsoft tools
  • Familiar working with ERP system (rout-

ing, BOM, production order) (preferred
SAP B1)

The Mold Engineering Manager is responsible for leading the engineering department and
designing and developing molds used in the production of plastic parts and products. This
includes analyzing customer requirements, creating 3D models and 2D drawings of the
molds using computer aided design (CAD) software, and ensuring that the molds meet in-
dustry standards and specifications. He/she also works closely with other engineers and
manufacturing teams to optimize the design in terms of cost, quality and production effi-
ciency. In addition, he/she oversees prototyping and repairs or improvements to existing
molds as required. Strong mechanical design skills, engineering principles and CAD soft-
ware experience are required for this role.
