As our successful Ethical Sourcing & Supplier Risk Management Lead, you will take accountability for supplier risk management strategy, policies, processes, programs and tools to deliver sustainable, high-end supplier performance while minimizing and mitigating risks within EMEA.

You will manage risk and enhance Takeda’s reputation by acting as the subject matter expert for supplier risk and sustainability in EMEA. Leverage Takeda’s global scale to take advantage of global, functional, and/or category synergies, while empowering the regional and category leads to apply best practices, manage risk, and make sound decisions with agility.

You will be required to develop strong horizontal alignment with Global and Regional Procurement Leads, other CoE Risk Management and Sustainability Leads, and Corporate Functions such as Ethics & Compliance and Legal.

Furthermore, you will provide global oversight of risk management within EMEA.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Accountable for developing and executing solutions in EMEA to minimize risk and enhance Takeda’s reputation through our vast network of suppliers
  • Lead supplier risk assessment, monitoring and mitigation for a prioritized list of suppliers in EMEA
  • Cultivate relationships with the relevant Global and Regional Procurement Leads (based on assigned region/scope), and Corporate Functions, particularly Ethics & Compliance and Legal. Serve as the primary point of contact for supplier risk management and sustainability within assigned region/teams. Draw upon the expertise of peers within the function and their organizations.
  • Co-lead the integration of Supplier Risk assessment requirements into the Acquisitions and Divestitures process
  • In close collaboration with other Risk Management and Sustainability Leads, develop and manage supplier risk management strategy and policies for assigned region. Roll-out revisions and training to assigned region and global category teams. Establish communication channels to ensure internal alignment.
  • In close collaboration with other Risk Management and Sustainability Leads, build our strategic supplier management capabilities within assigned region and categories by establishing a framework and direction on target number of strategic suppliers, selection criteria, measurement, risk management and ongoing monitoring of performance. Partner with relevant global and regional Procurement Leads and Category Managers to develop strategy and implement.
  • In close collaboration with CoE peers, develop, manage and build capabilities, within assigned region and global category teams, to manage supplier risk, including financial stability of suppliers, social and economic instability, local labour environment, health & safety trends, etc. Provide thought leadership and evaluate how risks can be prevented, assumed, transferred, or insured.
  • Partner with Global and Regional Procurement teams acting as primary point of contact during risk-related incidents affecting our suppliers in EMEA, as needed/required
  • Ensure continuous improvement of risk management practices and capabilities globally. Monitor industry best practices and establish and maintain industry networking presence to inform future strategy development. Introduce and leverage digital, automation, and contemporary tools and technology

Key Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

  • Successful track record of designing and implementing complex risk management and sustainability strategies that achieved desired results.
  • Deep technical expertise in supplier risk management and sustainability tools
  • Strong business and financial acumen.
  • Track record of process improvement using disciplined methodology, i.e. Lean and/or Six Sigma
  • Demonstrated abilities in high value project/program management of high-performing global teams.
  • Leadership experience in team management, governance models, and supplier management, both strategic and operational/day-to-day.
  • Knowledge of current and emerging trends in supplier risk management and sustainability.
  • Demonstrated hands on work experience in human rights, labour, Environmental Health and Safety, Financial Risk and ethical supply chain that includes progressive and diversified industry experience.
  • Experience in a leadership capacity with similar function and scope, proven ability to influence and drive change across functions and private-public partnerships.
  • Expertise in labour, ethics and human rights due diligence and programming.
  • Possess in-depth knowledge of supply base and sourcing business practices.
  • Experience working in a complex global environment, understands international business practices, customs and markets.
  • Global Travel up to 5%
