Location: Zurich, Switzerland

Mandarin Oriental Savoy, Zurich is located in the heart of the old town, within the main business centre, close to the city’s leisure attractions and a short walk from the shores of Lake Zurich. Set to open end of 2023, Mandarin Oriental Savoy, Zurich will feature 80 guestrooms and suites and three dining outlets, comprising an all-day dining venue, a speciality restaurant, and a lobby lounge. The property is ideally placed for meetings and gatherings, and the renovation will enhance conference and event facilities, including a grand historic ballroom.

As Events Service Manager, you will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Running the Banqueting operations to assure a smooth day to day operation of the events spaces in the hotel
  • Leading the banquet service team and carry out all aspects of the managerial role such as rostering, training, carrying out appraisals and so on
  • Enforce and monitor that all operational standards, as per our policies, SOP and quality measures are in place at all times
  • Create and maintain a great synergy between Banqueting operations and all other F&B outlets as well the Event Sales team and support them as required whenever possible
  • Participate in meeting clients for operational questions and concerns and join sales calls if necessary
  • Maintain a strong relationship with events related contractors and event companies as well as counterparts from other hotels in the city
  • Work closely with the respective Culinary team members on coordinating service flow, timings and set ups of all events, including coffee breaks, buffet, set menus, cocktail receptions and any others as required
  • Maintain a file with detailed overview of all banquet venues and work closely with the Catering and Evens Sales team together to determine possible lay outs, set ups and floor plans

What we are looking for:

  • Previous experience in a leadership role in Banquet/Events service is required
  • Extensive Hotel Experience within a luxury setting
  • Ability to assemble, analyze, understand integrated spread sheets and complex technical information
  • Prioritization skills necessary to meet deadlines
  • Strong presentation skills and effective management, leadership, organizational and communications skills
  • Excellent communication skills both written and spoken in English and German
  • Qualification in hospitality is preferred.
