The Executive New Products Director is a Global role serving as a core member of one or more Global Program Teams (GPT) for Novartis molecules in clinical development. He or she is the lead Commercial member of the GPT, responsible for the integration of commercial strategy and related activities. This role is the single point of accountability for the creation of market-driven disease area, and indication, strategies, target product profiles (TPP) with clearly differentiated competitive advantage and Value Propositions (in GPT, NIBR programs and BD&L opportunities), as well as integrated Treatment Maps (ITM) and Patient Journeys (IPJ). This role will also lead responsibilities for the development of the IPS Integrated Product Strategy. This position will collaborate closely with key CPO’s to ensure country/regional input to program strategy and GPT commercial activities and will also lead commercial support for external opportunities. This requires collaborating closely with BD&L to identify, screen and assess potential in-licensing opportunities, and provide disease area expertise and commercial input. This position will involve about 30% travel and is remote based

Responsibilities:
  • Develop, implement and lead market research plans for programs
  • Develop synthesized insights across customers/stakeholders including local insights at top 10 CPOs
  • Ensure that key insights are incorporated into GPT clinical development and market access strategies.
  • Ensure that clinical/brand optimization study plan reflects critical factors for market access.
  • Use in-depth disease area and market knowledge to influence development colleagues, providing strategic direction to clinical trial design.
  • Gather and apply insights to drive product differentiation and competitive advantage resulting in outstanding launch execution.
  • Provide commercial input to guide the development program and life cycle plans to optimize overall commercial potential.
  • Partner with NIBR to support project milestone transitions decisions, and improve the strategic fit of drug research activities.
  • Drive early brand value and differentiation through formulation development and packaging, including new technologies.
  • Develop the brand vision, strategy, positioning and strategic imperatives to achieve financial objectives, and align company resources. Build and maintain connections with patients, caregivers, patient organizations. Ensure that such input also crafts brand strategy.
  • Lead Commercial aspects of DDP and FDP transitions, including commercial sections of IPS and other key documents for internal decision making. Ensure input from key CPOs/regions is sought and incorporated in clinical development and commercial strategies.
  • With GP&MA (as co-lead of Value & Access Team, [V&AT]), develop pricing options based on market trends, payer insights and impact on sales/profitability.
  • Develop and direct revenue forecasting activities for pipeline & BD&L opportunities. Formulate commercial budget and resource requirements for programs.
Minimum Requirements

What you’ll bring to the role:
  • Bachelors degree in science related, and PhD/MD/MBA highly preferred, experience in business consulting experience a plus.
  • Minimum 10+ years professional experience in Pharma industry. Marketing experience within the US or Global. Experience in multiple geographies and or sales experience desirable.
  • Experience in early product commercialization or pricing and market access is required.
  • Significant BD&L and M&A experience; at least 1 deal of public record
  • Experience in pipeline development and management; led at least 2 projects of public record
  • Senior leadership (PEC, DLT, or equivalent) negotiation, presentation and meeting leadership skills
  • In-depth knowledge in appropriate franchise TA desirable and strong external networks in appropriate disease area.
