As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible to install, operate, maintain, repair and modify equipment on various Medtronic medical equipment. You will perform a variety of maintenance and technical support on products such as equipment, integrated systems and subsystems, and software at customer and/or field locations.

A day in a life

Main responsibilities will include:

  • Troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctions to eliminate problem in minimum time
  • Analyze and evaluate products and related performance
  • Install, upgrade and remove products ensuring coordinative engineering field change
  • Maintain effective customer communications and relations
  • May provide onsite training of customer support personnel
  • Provide technical advice to customers, sales personnel, and healthcare professionals responding to product related questions, issues and problems
  • Provide sales personnel with technical data necessary for the demonstration of products
  • Act as a liaison between sales personnel and customers on technical issues
  • May make technical presentations at sales meetings and customer locations
  • Ability to navigate software-controlled systems
  • Provide technical support over the phone or via remote technology

Must have:

  • Minimum of 2 years relevant experience at the same position
  • Mechatronics knowledge, including Electro-Mechanical Systems, Control Electronics, Digital Control Systems, etc.
  • Understanding of a complex system and the ability to manage and solve problems
  • Knowledge of large capital systems ideally within the Medical environment
  • Able to operate independently, with excellent problem-solving skills
  • Fluent in spoken French and English
  • Strong customer facing communication skills with a customer focused mindset
  • Enthusiastic and fast learner for both new technologies and new environments
  • Creative thinking with owner state of mind
  • Commitment to success and a drive to achieve goals
  • Organized and structured way of working with good planning skills
  • Willingness to work flexible hours

Nice to Have:

  • German, Italian language skills
  • Passionate and engaged team player
  • Flexibility and adaptable to challenges and opportunities
