The purpose of BEC is to harness the efficiency of private markets and entrepreneurship to alleviate poverty and address pressing social and environmental challenges.Blue Earth Capital follows an integrated investment strategy aimed at generating both impact and market rate financial returns. BEC follows a global, relative-value investment approach, investing across all impact sectors and across the entire capital structure. The firm will invest in developed and emerging markets to achieve both social and environmental impact. The role Your Key Responsibilities Will IncludeIn this position you will be part of Blue Earth Capital’s’ Private Equity Fund and Co-investment team with responsibilities across all aspects of private market investments, including sourcing, execution, related financings, on-going monitoring and divestitures globally.
  • Assessing and evaluating prospective fund and co-investment opportunities globally
  • Modeling business plans, LBO structures, fund portfolios and investment returns
  • Participating actively in due diligence work streams on prospective investments (e.g. financial, commercial, tax and legal due diligence)
  • Drafting internal investment recommendation documents
  • Contributing to the negotiation and drafting of legal corporate documentation (e.g. LPA, side letters, SPA, SHA, MIP)
  • Monitoring and supporting portfolio investments throughout our investment period
  • Conducting various other tasks related to product reporting, market research, marketing efforts and special projects
What We ExpectWe are looking for a professional with the ability and willingness to excel within a highly entrepreneurial organization.The Successful Candidate Should Demonstrate
  • 1-3 years of work experience in financial services, preferably with leading firms in private equity, M&A, leverage finance or investment consulting
  • Experience in private market transactions is preferred
  • Strong skills and experience in financial modeling, industry research and conducting due diligence
  • Excellent analytical, inter-personal and written communication skills
  • Business fluency in written and spoken English is required
  • Demonstrated passion for impact investing is required
  • Excellent academic credentials with a minimum of a bachelor’s degree from a top-tier university
