Financial Controller (100%)


Jobs mission


Within the Finance & Accounting department, the mission of the Controlling Department is to provide our top management with detailed financial analysis, excellent business insight, scenario planning & Business Performance reporting to support sound decision making and help reaching the company’s objectives.
We aim at establishing a sustainable and efficient business partnership, with client departments across IMD to gather and provide qualitative financial information.

As a Financial Controller, you will have the opportunity to partner on key projects in one of the finance functions. In addition, you will be able to experience the atmosphere of being part of one of the most prestigious business school worldwide.


Key Activities & Accountabilities


Financial Analysis (50%)
  • Act as a finance business partner on selected departments by providing variance cost analysis and guidance on enabling and staff functions by regularly updating the respective functions and the Controlling Manager
  • In close relationship with Sales, Operations and other department heads, participate in the production and analysis of forecasts for Revenue and Program Margin and other business metrics
  • Participate to the budget and forecasting process.
  • Analyze business results and provide value-added insights to Management on variances versus budget and forecast
  • Support the Controlling team with ad-hoc analysis as necessary

Financial System (30%)
  • Support the Finance team’s evolution from basic reporting to new state of the art business intelligence tools
  • Working with controlling team to gather business requirements and in partnership with IT department to build necessary data infrastructure and pipelines to support Controlling reporting, data, and analytics needs.
  • Standardize and automate existing Controlling reports, metrics, and dashboards in addition to designing new financial/business reporting packages for senior management
  • Develop documentation for delivered solution, assist in all phases of testing and provide hands-on training to end users

Process and Compliance (20%)
  • Maintaining and regularly reviewing Delegation of Authority Matrix into Sales Force System
  • Maintain and document current and new system process flows

Formula to success



Education
  • Master’s Degree in Finance, Economics or similar


Competencies

  • Between 2 to 4 years of experience in a Finance / Accounting function (i.e. Business Controlling / Audit / Sales controller)
  • Good analytical and numerical skills
  • You have affinity to create, review and improve business processes independently.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with PowerBI / Power Query is a plus
  • Good communication skill and ability to explain data and financial analysis
  • Team player with ability to function well independently when appropriate
  • Conversational French a plus
  • Self-motivated, results focused.
