Overview:

The Formulations & Packaging Technical Center Manager is primarily responsible for delivering process safety improvement initiatives, technical process optimization, and technology standardization through the leadership of the Improvement, Tolling, and Packaging Engineers that support FMC’s Formulation and Packaging manufacturing sites.


The role is based out of our newly established regional Head office in Geneva, Switzerland, where you will join an environment with a professional, international and collaborative atmosphere.The role reports to the Formulations and Packaging Technical Center Associate Director


Responsibilities:

  • Drive process safety
    • Implement and ensure adherence to Process Safety standards
    • Execute plan to implement Process Safety Management (PSM) program in alignment with goals from the Process Safety organization
    • Promote a culture of safety within Improvement Team and at manufacturing facilities.
    • Meet all commitments regarding safety, environmental reporting and improvement initiatives.
  • Drive continuous improvement
    • Help identify and execute process improvement opportunities and implement standard methodologies
    • Direct the overall project management, tracking, and reporting responsibilities for continuous improvement projects and CapEx projects in the region
    • Drive data- based decision making across the network
    • Develop continuous improvement project list, identify potential value, and execute a defined plan
    • Provide technical review of capital projects >$100k
    • Deliver results and bring projects in safely, on-time, and on-budget
  • Drive new product implementation
    • Lead transition of new products from R&D technical packages to a commercial scale during NPI Launch Stage
    • Deploy team to lead execution of new product introductions in coordination with R&D team
    • Engage in technical evaluations for determination of approved locations for new product launches
  • Drive standardization across sites and develop technical talent
    • Implement standards consistently across sites while developing critical technical talent
    • Attract and retain strong technical resources, support the growth and development of technical team members, provide input for succession planning
    • Drive standardization of process and technology in coordination with the Technical Guardianship group.

Required Qualifications:

  • Min. Bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering or related field combined with min. 5 years of experience in a chemical environment
  • Strong safety leadership and experience with process safety management.
  • Experience with capital deployment and/or small capital project management
  • Ability to interpret and apply broad basis principles, theories and concepts and communicate these effectively to non-technical audiences.
  • Extensive knowledge and expertise on established technologies.
  • Experience applying data-based decision making and strong results driven/action orientated approach to leadership.
