Our People Advisory Services business (PAS) is focused on people management and our vision is to help our clients get it right in all its facets. PAS has three key pillars: Transformation (Workforce Advisory), mobile talent and workforce enablement (Integrated Mobility) and transactions (Reward and HR M&A). In Reward, we help our clients to manage the complex challenges in executive/board rewards, pensions/benefits, corporate transactions and equally broader based reward topics such as regulatory compliance, broad based equity programs, grading, performance management and the like. The HR M&A team supports clients end to end on HR and people matters throughout various types of transactions, such as mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, divestitures and other corporate transactions. This includes project managing HR due diligence, as well as planning and executing integration, joint venture, separations and other types of corporate transactions. As part of the global team, this group benefits from strategic investment in a number of its businesses and forecasts significant growth in the short to medium term.

Your key responsibilities

  • Join and support projects in close collaboration with our clients (possible topics: benchmarking projects on executive level, design of compensation plans, reward policies or benefits evaluats, etc.)
  • Support clients to address people related matters brought about via enterprise wide or functional re-organization / restructuring
  • Support project planning, data analysis, report writing and development of presentation material
  • Work with key project leaders to manage and maintain client relationships
  • Working collaboratively with other M&A service lines and colleagues across EY globally


Skills and attributes for success

To qualify for the role you must have

  • University degree in Economics / Finance kombined with a good understanding of HR topics
  • First experience in corporate HR, Compensation & Benefits or HR Consulting
  • Qualitative and quantitative data analysis skills as well as ability to create appropriate data presentations
  • Strong written and verbal English and German communication skills and experience of producing high calibre reports, papers, presentations


Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Ideally, first experience in M&A deal projects or business restructuring with a focus on HR and people matters such as Due Diligence, post-deal integration and post deal value enhancement. Business transformation and restructuring such as organisation design or an HR generalist background or an M&A background (including legal or financial)
  • Experience of supporting projects/workstreams
  • Experience in working on people matters such as key employee retention, compensation and benefits programmes
  • Teamplayer mentality with the ability to integrate with new teams quickly
  • Ability to analyse complex problems and to deliver insightful, practical and sustainable solutions
  • Pragmatic and adaptable with the ability to deal with ambiguity and effectively manage conflict
