Corporate and Investment Bank - Compliance - Compliance Officer - AVP/VP (m/f) - Zurich

With a diverse team of Compliance professionals supporting all areas of our business around the globe. The team is working diligently to be innovative and present all business partners with thoughtful and unique solutions to the challenges they face. The Compliance function has a robust set of priorities in place focused on best practice and employee development to ensure goals are delivered.

As a Compliance officer you will be part of the EMEA Compliance team. You will work with the other members of the EMEA and Global Compliance teams located outside Switzerland. The EMEA Compliance team includes a number of product specialist teams. You would team up with these specialists to provide support to the corresponding businesses in Switzerland. You will be responsible for providing support to the Investment Banking and Treasury Services and Investor Services businesses conducted from and through Switzerland.

Job responsibilities
  • Providing timely advice and assistance on a wide range of regulatory issues, firm compliance policies and procedures
  • Keeping governing bodies, businesses and group Compliance functions appraised of any Compliance-related topics, e.g. compliance risks and regulatory changes in Switzerland of relevance for the business activities, including reporting obligations
  • Implementing and updating firm policies and procedures, in particular as they pertain to conduct of business, anti-money laundering (AML), sanctions and general compliance
  • Reviewing new products as defined by the firm’s new product approval process
  • Contributing and performing the risk assessment and assisting in the control program of the regional Co
  • Identifying and following up on regulatory breaches, compliance-related incidents and compliance-related complaints with the view to avoid re-occurrence
  • Facilitating the preparation and delivery of relevant compliance trainings
  • Liaising with regulators, e.g. the FINMA, other competent authorities and auditors on an proactive basis, as appropriate
  • Working with business and other corporate functions on implementing controls, changes to processes and IT-systems to ensure functionality is compliant with all relevant rules and regulation
  • Supporting the group’s data privacy framework as appropriate

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Good knowledge of banking products, in particular in the area of Investment Banking, Capital Markets, Corporate and Commercial Banking, Deposits and Custody, Global Payments, Trade Services
  • Several years of Compliance experience (or Audit, Legal, Regulatory at a financial institution)
  • Good understanding of the Swiss banking regulatory environment, previous experience in dealing with authorities would be a plus
  • Fluency in English and German, other national Swiss languages would be a plus
  • Meticulous attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to understand and interpret requirements and drive practical outcomes
  • Ability to make sound decisions, including escalation when appropriate
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks and manage projects effectively
  • Good team player and strong communicator and presentation skills
  • Willingness to go beyond the day to day delivery of excellence
