Position: Director of Sales (Full time #534211)
Property / Office: Mandarin Oriental Savoy, Zurich
Location: Zurich, Switzerland

Mandarin Oriental Savoy, Zurich is located in the heart of the old town, within the main business centre, close to the city’s leisure attractions and a short walk from the shores of Lake Zurich. Set to open end of 2023, Mandarin Oriental Savoy, Zurich will feature 80 guestrooms and suites and three dining outlets, comprising an all-day dining venue, a speciality restaurant, and a lobby lounge. The property is ideally placed for meetings and gatherings, and the renovation will enhance conference and event facilities, including a grand historic ballroom.

It’s sales that make our hotels, resorts and residences prosper. As the Director of Sales, you will lead by example in developing and implementing the sales activities within the hotel. You take pride in developing and deploying sales generation activities, and in guiding and supporting your colleagues as they deploy activities in their assigned markets. Your team depends on you, and your efforts are valued and important to the success of the business.

Under the guidance of the Director of Marketing and Commercial Strategy, the two of you will meet regularly to brainstorm, share updates and flag issues before they become problems. You will work closely with your sales colleagues, and you will support, and be supported, by your operations team.

Main Duties include:

Supporting Developing & Executing Sales Strategies

  • Works with sales to ensure understanding of sales strategy and effective implementation of this strategy for the property.
  • Works with sales team to create and implement a sales plan addressing revenue, customers and the market for the segment.

Maximizing Revenue

  • Provides positive leadership to ensure maximum revenue potential
  • Recommends booking goals for sales team members.
  • Analyzes market information by using sales systems and implements strategy to achieve property’s financial room and catering goals.

Building Successful Relationships

  • Develops and manages relationships with key stakeholders, both internal and external.
  • Attends customer events, trade shows and sales missions to maintain, build or develop key relationships with MOHG Global Channels Sales.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Executes and supports the brand’s Customer Service Standards and property’s Brand Standards.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Excellent presentation and proactive communication skills in both verbal and written in English and German.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in hotel management or relevant.
  • Proven track record of experience in Sales & Marketing Department.
  • Good level of Computer skills.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate the team.
  • The successful candidate must already be eligible to work in Switzerland.
