Position Summary


At Nestlé Product Technology Center, in Orbe, we develop new products, processes and packaging concepts in the areas of Infant Cereal and Healthy Snacks for Nestlé worldwide. In addition, we also provide technical assistance to our factories around the world.


We are looking for a motivated candidate with a technical flair to support scientific research in the area of chemical stability of food, with a specific focus on methods to monitor fat oxidation of foods.

A Day in the Life of a Food Chemistry Intern


  • Develop and validate new methods for determination of oxidative resistance of our products to predict their deterioration during shelf-life
  • Perform literature search related to project topics to build scientific hypothesis
  • Execute experimental plan to establish key method parameters
  • Establish Method validation (reproducibility, repeatability, linearity, sensitivity, robustness, etc.)
  • Document, analyze & present results internally to the company

What will make you successful


  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Chemistry, Food Science or related sciences
  • Strong interest in Analytical sciences & food chemistry; First experience in a laboratory environment is an asset
  • Cooperating well in a team, autonomous, structured, and proactive
  • Good written and oral English communication skills, basic French is an asset
  • Good command of MS Office tools, especially Excel
