Full Stack Software Engineer Country: Switzerland

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

Position Summary:

Banco Santander International S.A. Web Department is seeking a highly motivated and skilled software engineer to join our team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, including the development and integration with other proprietary software of the organization, including but not limited to:

  • Custom cloud native web applications, with around 30 microservices.
  • The private e-banking application,
  • An iOS mobile app and
  • An Android mobile app.

You will be responsible for designing, coding, testing, and maintaining software applications, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that our products meet customer needs and expectations.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field and be proficient in multiple programming languages. Strong problem-solving and communication skills, as well as the ability to work well in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, are essential for success in this role.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • The candidate is expected to have more expertise on front-end and mobile development than back-end. But with appetite to become full stack with time.
  • Supervises application lifecycle including testing definition, data management, performance evaluation
  • Ensure a proper handoff to the support teams, ensuring the documentation, monitoring, and testing complies with high standards of quality
  • Contribute to define best practices of development and architectural design patterns.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize software requirements.
  • Develop and implement algorithms and data structures to solve complex problems.
  • Implement bug fixes reported by the support team.
  • Keep up to date with new software development technologies and programming languages.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Educated to degree level with experience of working in a large, international IT organization.
  • More than 2 years’ experience in web or mobile development.
  • Fluent in at least two of the following languages: English, French, Spanish. The third one it’s a plus.
  • Excellent analytical, strategic thinking and modeling skills.
  • Teamwork and team spirit focused including flexibility
