Healthcare Medical Partner

Field based: Central Switzerland

About AstraZeneca

AstraZeneca is a global, science-led, patient-focused biopharmaceutical company that focuses on the discovery, development and commercialisation of prescription medicines for some of the world’s most serious diseases. But we’re more than one of the world’s leading pharmaceutical companies.

About The Integrated Healthcare Team At AstraZeneca Switzerland

Our goal is simple, but ambitious, we aim to actively contribute to advance clinical practice and reduce the overall burden of prevalent chronic diseases that are leading causes of mortality in Switzerland, taking as notable examples COPD or Chronic Kidney Disease.

However, we can only achieve this ambition if we contribute to changing clinical practice in a sustainable way: We want to give patients access to medical innovations. With targeted measures, we not only want to draw the attention of the population, patients and treating HCPs, but also support the early identification of symptoms plus the implementation of current treatment guidelines.

We are convinced that by working together with various stakeholders in the Swiss healthcare system, we can reduce the consequences of chronic diseases, such as cardiovascular complications, hospital admissions or premature deaths, by 50 percent by 2030.

  • Development of a solution portfolio: partner with healthcare professionals (through scientific exchanges, medical education, data generation or other medical programs) to identify those patients who could benefit from early diagnosis/referral or joint treatment by GPs and specialists
  • Implementation of solutions that could benefit patient care in chronic diseases (focus on cardiovascular/kidney/respiratory diseases) (e.g. diagnostic tools, PoC implementation, tele-monitoring, etc.)
  • Development of new ways/measures to increase awareness and action (focus on cardiovascular/kidney/respiratory diseases) to identify and treat the patient’s disease state at an early stage.

Crucial for the role

  • Experience in clinical research and/or medical affairs & education, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry with a focus on primary care
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the legal and ethical framework and the procedural guidelines that apply to the promotion and approval of medicinal products in Switzerland (Pharmacodex, Compliance)
