Overview Of Role

We offer an exciting opportunity to join our Investment Controlling team that closely works alongside the Portfolio Management teams in our main locations in Switzerland and Europe. The team is responsible for monitoring investment portfolios by controlling that they are set up correctly and reflect regulatory requirements and our clients’ individual preferences throughout their entire life cycle. In addition, the Investment Controlling team prepares, oversees and controls the implementation of our investment decisions in discretionary mandates. We look for a motivated and pro-active individual who not only enjoys maintaining and supporting our day to day business but who is also motivated to actively contribute to the improvement of our infrastructure and processes.

Responsibilities
  • Set up client and regulatory rules for new and existing accounts in the Avaloq Banking System that serve the periodic monitoring of compliance with Rothschild & Co investment strategy and asset management agreements
  • Regular completion of the Investment Control checks to the highest standards
  • Supervise, analyse and verify pre and post trade compliance of the Portfolio Management Team using the Avaloq Banking System
  • Conduct periodic and ad-hoc request of Rothschild & Co independent risk, compliance and audit teams or external regulators or auditors
  • Pro-actively improve existing controls and implementation processes and the infrastructure thereof
  • Collaborate in projects, the development and the redesign of our Investment Control function
  • Conduct analysis and support Senior Management in terms of presentations and statistics related to overall Portfolio Management structure and activities, performance, control & supervision metrics

Education And Qualifications
  • At least 2 years of work experience gained within the financial industry or in a compliance/audit/legal/control related function (career returners are welcome)
  • Banking/commercial apprenticeship (kaufmännische- oder Banklehre) in the finance industry or similar
  • Additional banking/finance education a plus
  • Good communication skills in English and German (written and spoken)
  • High proficiency with desktop applications and MS Office suite of products, especially Excel
  • Experience with the Avaloq core banking system is a plus
