The Kempinski Hotels Corporate Office is located in Geneva, Switzerland. The group currently operates a total of 79 five-star hotels in 34 countries. The portfolio includes historic grand hotels, superb city hotels, outstanding resorts and superior residences.
IT Operations Manager
The IT Operations Manager ensures a smooth delivery of all IT services to the corporate office as well as centrally hosted applications in a compliant and secure manner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Reported issues are being resolved promptly.
- IT projects are delivered in a timely manner and within a prescribed budget.
- A good working knowledge of the current industry standard operating systems (i.e. Windows & Linux) and major applications (i.e. Google G-Suite, Microsoft Office) is maintained.
- Corporate policies and procedures are being followed, implemented and maintained.
- Industry security standards are being followed and implemented (i.e. PCI DSS).
- Servers and workstations are being patched and updated with the latest security patches.
- Backups of crucial data are being performed, tested and stored in a compliant manner.
- An inventory of all hard-/software, licenses and other IT related assets is being created and maintained.
- The PCI DSS audit result for the corporate office is at least 90%.
- All network, security, storage, and computer systems meet the organisation’s current and future requirements.
- Solve technical and operational challenges in the scope of IT reported by users.
- Develop and maintain relationships with all relevant vendors of Kempinski.
- Maintain excellent communication channels between the IT department, corporate departments and hotel IT Manager.
- Manage all networking equipment to include servers, switches, hubs, and routers.
- Ensure that all corporate and central systems do comply with industry (i.e. PCI DSS) and company standards.
- Professionally represent the IT department as a technical consultant on projects.
- Provide guidance and be point of contact for hotel IT manager for daily business tasks
- Daily administration of corporate user accounts, groups and roles.
- Proactively identify, analyse, and resolve network and system problems, performance issues, and computer resource allocation.
- Ensure that backups are performed and checked on a regular basis.
- Ensure a business continuity plan is established and tested together with the department heads for all part of the business supported by IT.
- Perform any other duties as assigned to him/her by management.
- Attend regional and worldwide meetings.
Additional responsibilities and tasks can be added at any time according to the needs of the business and the corporate office.
Desired Skills & Qualifications
Nationality : Eligible for a working permit in Switzerland.
Education: Bachelor Degree or Diploma in IT Administration, MIS
Experience: Preferably, experience in end-user support, systems configuration and administration in an enterprise environment. Working knowledge of service-oriented industry operations, managerial and international experience. Any combination equivalent to experience that provides the required skill and knowledge is qualifying. Minimum of 5 years of experience in an IT function – Experience in hospitality IT is a plus.
Language: Ability to work and communicate in a multinational environment:
- English – excellent oral and written skills
- French, German is a plus
Technical competencies:
- Windows Domain Management, preferably MCSA or MCSE certified
- Network (LAN) Management, preferably HPE ATP (or equivalent) certified
- Amazon Web Services (IaaS)
- Server virtualization, preferably VMware
- Hardware deployments
- Patch Management
- IT Asset Management
- Helpdesk Management
- Data Backup
- Basic Linux skills, preferably Amazon Linux, RHEL, OpenSUSE
- Basic Scripting skills (VBScript, Batch Scripting, Linux Bash, Python, REGEX)
- MS Office
- Telephony and Conference solutions
