Junior R&D Software Engineer (C++)

We are looking for a talented Junior R&D Software Engineer, C++ (3D computer vision, image processing, algorithms). Partial remote work possible.
Within the Model team, you will participate in the development of exciting and innovative technology that will underpin new products with the aim of significantly boosting customer productivity, creating value for customers and making our new products a success.

From designing and implementing computer vision algorithms to processing of 3D point clouds and meshes, you will work on a variety of highly technical subjects, bridging the gap between academic research and thousands of daily users. You will initially work on improvements to our surface reconstruction/mesh pipeline.
You are passionate about your field and follow up closely the latest developments and scientific literature and are able to link these to product needs. You are able to put together proof-of-concepts in high level languages to demonstrate your ideas internally. When it’s time to bring the code to production you strive to keep your code simple (readable and testable), performant (scalable) and robust. You understand the importance of testing and your definition of “done” contains unit tests complemented by functional and performance tests. You enjoy sharing good practices, pair programming and learning from others and are passionate about your craft.

Responsibilities
Implement computer vision algorithms
Engage with product teams and be curious about the customer problems and pain points
Engage daily in code reviews and promote good software engineering practices
Participate actively in the team and company’s agile processes
Participate to the testing of our developpements, from unit testing
Refactor, maintain and optimize existing code base
Requirements
Fast algorithm prototyping in a high-level language (e.g. Python, Matlab/Octave, Julia, ...)
Proficient in modern C++ programming: focused on code quality, simplicity, ease of maintenance and blazing fast code
Experience in computer vision, photogrammetry, computational geometry, algorithm development or related fields
Strong mathematical and problem solving skills; pride in high-quality work
Open-minded and able to work collaboratively in a team
Able to find your way around in large C++ code bases
Proficient English language skills (written and spoken)
Flexible and feel at home in a fast growing technology company

Desirable
Experience with CUDA (or Vulkan, OpenCL), OpenCV
ML/Deep Learning background dealing with 3D geometries
Knowledge of python
Strong CS and math background: linear algebra, statistics, optimization
