Job Description

We are looking to hire a dynamic senior lawyer to join Galderma’s Legal & Compliance Team as its first counsel focused on commercial contracting. It is an exciting opportunity for anyone who would like to leverage their expertise to build our new legal contract management function. You will have the possibility to influence the way we operate around commercial contracting, build agreement templates and playbooks, manage policies and processes, and improve our contract management tools and systems. You will be at the front line negotiating key commercial contracts.

We are currently in an inspiring transformational phase - as we deliver on our ambition to become the leading dermatology company in the world. You will be joining an ambitious and skilled international team of lawyers and compliance personnel and have the ability to make a positive contribution early on.

We encourage applications from all backgrounds and communities, with a range of experiences and skillsets, and welcome applications from people at different stages of their careers. We value the positive impact equality and diversity have on our teams.

Job Responsibilities

  • Support business and procurement operations by drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of commercial contracts; for example, services and master services agreements, engagement of independent contractors and healthcare professionals, IT and systems agreements, SaaS, data processing agreements, marketing, advertising and media, and confidentiality agreements.
  • Manage and investigate contract-related matters and issues in cooperation with business stakeholders and other corporate counsels. Communicate and present information to stakeholders about contracts.
  • Prepare, communicate, and ensure compliance with contract policies, SOPs and playbooks.
  • Develop and improve processes to mitigate contractual risk, improve contract quality and increase efficiency.
  • Be the legal point person for managing Galderma’s new contract lifecycle management tool and interact with superusers on its development, new program releases, and template automation.
  • Keep appraised of global developments in contract law and other topics relevant to Galderma’s contract management operations.
  • Train stakeholders on contract matters, negotiation positions, and policies and processes - creating systematic and recurrent internal training (legal for non-legal) to allow procurement and business teams and managers to operate with greater autonomy.

Minimum Requirements

  • Licentiate, Bachelor of Laws, JD or equivalent degree from an accredited law school.
  • Self-starter with 10+ years’ experience working with commercial contracts in a contract management setting - ideally acquired in the pharmaceutical industry or TMT sectors.
  • Highly skilled at drafting and negotiating commercial contracts in English.
  • Expertise in developing efficient contract templates and standard documents.
  • Hands-on experience with contract management tools and systems.
  • Experience from international matrix organisations and multicultural corporate environments. Ability to interact effectively at all levels, including management.
  • Entrepreneurial, with tolerance for ambiguity and complexity.
  • Self-motivated; thrives in a fast-paced environment with minimal direction and can adjust workload based upon changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Team- player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lead, successfully collaborate cross-functionally and strategically educate and support colleagues.
  • Passion for contracts and making a positive difference. Inspired by the challenge to set up Galderma’s new contract management function, improve processes, and increase efficiency.
  • Proficient in English. Other languages can be an advantage.

We look forward to hearing from you.
