Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in software development, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience in product management; setting product direction, driving goals and executing roadmaps.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience working on trust and safety products/solutions.
- Experience building strong cross-functional relationships.
- Experience developing business to business products.
- Ability to resolve ambiguities in complex environments.
- Ability to influence without direct authority.

Our team works closely with creative and prolific engineers, designers, marketers, etc. to help design and develop technologies that improve access to the world’s information. We’re responsible for guiding products throughout the execution cycle, focusing specifically on analyzing, positioning, packaging, promoting, and tailoring our solutions to our users.
Counter-Abuse Technology (CAT) is part of the Privacy, Security, and Safety organization within the Core team. In this role you’ll be expected to empathize with user needs and propose innovative solutions that make Google’s systems more efficient and effective at bad actor detection and prevention of abuse before it happens, thereby reducing the amount of abuse on Google products. You will also help advance the company’s product culture to get even better at building for safety first.
This is a rapidly evolving space, where you’ll work cross functionally with partners in Trust & Safety, as well as product areas across Google to ensure we meet users where they are with an intuitive and consistent approach.
The Core team builds the technical foundation behind Google’s flagship products. We are owners and advocates for the underlying design elements, developer platforms, product components, and infrastructure at Google. These are the essential building blocks for excellent, safe, and coherent experiences for our users and drive the pace of innovation for every developer. We look across Google’s products to build central solutions, break down technical barriers and strengthen existing systems. As the Core team, we have a mandate and a unique opportunity to impact important technical decisions across the company.
Responsibilities
- Own cross-functional relationships with our internal partners to understand the needs of our policy and product partners.
- Collaborate with cross-functional team members to develop robust abuse-detection models.
- Collaborate with internal partners and product area engineering teams where we have dependencies or areas of overlap and opportunities to create value together.
- Focus on landings, adoption across Google product areas, and feedback to ensure our products are successful in reducing the amount of uncaught abuse.amount of uncaught abuse.
- Collaborate closely with the Lead Product Managers for a high visibility product roadmap. Launch useful features and integrations with Google products.
