About the job

At Google, data drives all of our decision-making. Quantitative Analysts work all across the organization to help shape Google’s business and technical strategies by processing, analyzing and interpreting huge data sets. Using analytical excellence and statistical methods, you mine through data to identify opportunities for Google and our clients to operate more efficiently, from enhancing advertising efficacy to network infrastructure optimization to studying user behavior. As an analyst, you do more than just crunch the numbers. You work with Engineers, Product Managers, Sales Associates and Marketing teams to adjust Google’s practices according to your findings. Identifying the problem is only half the job; you also figure out the solution.

As a Quantitative Business Analyst, you will help the Analytics and Decision Support team, and be part of a community of technical analysts. We work on impactful projects ranging from developing critical data pipelines that help run the business, to analyzing the content partnerships and creator ecosystem to guide business leadership on optimizing the effectiveness and efficiency of our partner-facing business teams.

You will work on strategic business challenges revolving around the economics of YouTube’s Content Business. You will analyze and understand our creators’ business models. You’ll provide careful analytical support for the business teams, including performance measurement, causal impact, estimation, predictive modeling, and metric definition, all leading to better, data-driven business recommendations.

At YouTube, we believe that everyone deserves to have a voice, and that the world is a better place when we listen, share, and build community through our stories. We work together to give everyone the power to share their story, explore what they love, and connect with one another in the process. Working at the intersection of cutting-edge technology and boundless creativity, we move at the speed of culture with a shared goal to show people the world. We explore new ideas, solve real problems, and have fun — and we do it all together.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a thought leader in the creation of planning, strategy, objectives, and key results development for your business domain. Make strategic and operational recommendations to achieve goals.
  • Work cross-functionally with leadership and teams in order to identify opportunities, design, and assess improvements to YouTube’s business.
  • Make business recommendations and convey findings at multiple levels including executive leadership, managers, and peers through visual displays of quantitative information.
  • Manage large, strategic, and cross-functional initiatives both on an on-going and ad-hoc basis.
  • Conduct analyses and processing of large and complex data sets, using advanced statistical and Machine Learning methods, with ongoing deliverables to improve the quality of Insights teams.
