RetinAI is a fast-growing digital healthcare company in Switzerland, Bern, focused on developing healthcare solutions to generate and organize insights and knowledge, enhance clinical diagnostics and pharmaceutical R&D, and improve patient outcomes.

To support the expansion of our business operations, we are looking for aSenior Finance Manager to complement our team.

Our objective is to establish lean business processes, project management practices and finance operations, which are key enablers for serving our customers and to support international business growth, including the direct market entry into the US. The ideal candidate should contribute with a relevant track record of managing Finance and Accounting activities, have a solid understanding of end-to-end business processes and KPIs and experience with leading process improvement and system implementation projects.

The preferred working location is Bern, Switzerland, where the company HQ is located, but we are strong supporters of mobility, diverse working models and work-life integration!

Requirements

Financial Analysis and Reporting:
  • Monitor the progression of the company’s growth plan. Provide monthly management reporting, forecasting, analysis and suggestions.
  • Partner with management and the different functions to define and provide financial reports, financial analysis and business cases while recommending further course of action.
  • Coordinate the annual budgeting and strategic planning processes.
  • Contribute with your continuous improvement mindset and partner with the different leaders within the organization to further standardize and automate our business processes, controls and KPIs.
  • Manage improvement projects in Finance and Operations Management to enhance our customer service deliveries.

Financial Accounting:
  • Manage the company’s monthly, quarterly and annual financial closing activities in line with the Swiss Code of Obligations.
  • Drive continuous improvement of systems, processes and internal controls to further standardize, automate or outsource activities.
  • Manage regular accounting activities, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger Accounting and VAT reporting.
  • Liaise with auditors to ensure appropriate monitoring of company finances is maintained and annual statutory audits are completed smoothly and comply with financial regulations.

Required Skills And Experience
  • University degree in business administration or similar field with a focus on Finance and Accounting, MBA is a plus.
  • Minimum 8 years of hands-on experience in managing Finance and Accounting operations in an international environment, ideally for a startup or growing company in the IT software or Medical Device or Digital Health industries.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities to develop individuals and teams. Ability to manage, guide and lead employees to ensure appropriate financial processes are being used.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management and collaboration skills with the ability to identify, drive and implement solutions across teams.
  • Track record of planning and implementing projects according to objectives (budget, time, resources, customer satisfaction).
  • Solid understanding of end-to-end operational, IT system and financial business processes and controls, ideally gained in the IT or Tech industries or in the fields of Digital Healthcare and Medical Devices.
  • Proven ability to identify operational process and control improvements and manage related implementation projects.
  • A solid understanding of financial analysis and accounting principles.
  • Self-starter with a high level of analytical and prioritization skills.
  • Proficiency in English and good conversational level of German or French
