Description

We are looking for a talented Senior R&D Software Engineer, C++ (3D computer vision, algorithms).

Within our growing team you will play a key part in developing exciting and innovative technology that will underpin new products with the aim of significantly boosting customer productivity, creating value for customers and making our new products a success.

You will work on a variety of highly technical subjects, bridging the gap between academic research and thousands of daily users. You will have a key role in strategically important projects, initially focusing on improvements for our surface reconstruction/meshing pipeline. You have a broad interest in computer vision or photogrammetry and a demonstrated expertise in processing of 3D point clouds and meshes. You understand that everything starts with the customer problem and you can work backwards to create the right solution.

You are passionate about your field and follow up closely the latest developments and scientific literature and are able to link these to product needs. You are able to put together proof-of-concepts in high level languages to demonstrate your ideas internally. When it’s time to bring the code to production you strive to keep your code simple (readable and testable), performant (scalable) and robust. You understand the importance of testing and your definition of “done” contains unit tests complemented by functional and performance tests. You enjoy sharing good practices, pair programming and learning from others and are passionate about your craft.

Responsibilities

• Develop a strong understanding of customer requirements
• Evaluate and prototype (in python) various technical state-of-the-art approaches
• Design and develop robust and scalable C++ algorithms with a focus on 3D geometric algorithms
• Engage daily in code reviews and promote good software engineering practices
• Participate actively in the team and company’s agile processes
  

Requirements

• Fast algorithm prototyping in a high-level language (e.g. Python, Matlab/Octave, Julia, ...)
• Proficient in modern C++ programming: focused on code quality, simplicity, ease of maintenance and blazing fast code
• Experience in computer vision, photogrammetry, computational geometry, algorithm development or related fields
• Strong mathematical and problem solving skills; pride in high-quality work
• Open-minded and able to work collaboratively in a team
• Proficient English language skills (written and spoken)
• Flexible and feel at home in a fast growing technology company

Desirable

• Experience with CUDA (or Vulkan, OpenCL), OpenCV
• Project management and leadership skills
• ML/Deep Learning background dealing with 3D geometries
• Knowledge of python
• Strong CS and math background: linear algebra, statistics, optimization
