The Reality Labs team at Meta enables people around the world to come together and connect through world-class Augmented and Virtual Reality hardware and software. With global departments dedicated to AR/VR research, computer vision, haptics, social interaction, and more, AR/VR is committed to driving the state of the art forward through relentless innovation. Our teams explore, develop, and deliver new cutting-edge technologies that serve as the foundation of current and future AR/VR products. This role is part of the DNA Zurich team, which enables Reality Labs CV algorithms to efficiently leverage sensor data by developing horizontal solutions that tackle sensor data control, access, emulation and quality. As part of the team, you will build scalable sensor data solutions that enable Computer Vision (CV) algorithms to run efficiently on existing and future AR/VR devices and work on designing highly performant frameworks. This role is ideal for someone passionate about mobile system architecture and building performant solutions for resource constrained devices.

  • Develop sensor data management solutions that primarily address algorithm specific needs for Meta HW products. (e.g. camera control)
  • Actively contribute to device system architecture where sensor control or access is involved and collaborate with OS & CV partner teams.
  • Identify business needs in the realm of sensor data and drive initiatives that will enable feature teams to deliver best in class experiences for current and future products.
  • Lead other engineers through technical guidance and direction in the realm of sensor data management.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering or other relevant technical fields.
  • Over three years of experience using C/C++ for day to day software development.
  • Experience with OS development, mobile devices OS or embedded systems expertise.
  • Past experience designing system APIs or building libraries.
  • Experience with codebases covering different layers in the software stack (OS, application layer etc.) or cross-platform development.
  • Experience tech leading small to medium sized teams in delivering SW projects.

  • Over five years of experience using C/C++ for day to day software development.
  • Experience delivering performant solutions for resource constrained devices.
  • Past experience with hardware sensor data access and control (e.g. cameras, IMUs).
  • A solid understanding and past experience with the Android Open Source Project (framework, native libraries HAL/HIDL etc.), or Linux OSS development.
  • Experience developing performance optimisations for mobile devices.
