Position Summary

We are currently looking for a Strategic Product Portfolio Architect covering all the product groups in the Unit to complete our Finance & Legal department

You will balance technological opportunities with business requirements at Stream level and maintain a holistic view of the organization’s strategy, processes, information, and IT Assets for all the product groups within our Stream. You will also link the Stream business mission, strategies, and processes to the IS/IT strategy, and you will be the guarantor of simplicity, agility, and effectiveness of all IT Products Groups within the Stream. Your responsibilities will include driving reuse and sharing of technology and best practices to maximize value delivered to the business in coordination with other Strategic Product Portfolio Architects, the Enterprise Architecture Team and the Architecture Community of Practice Lead. You will be accountable of the application of the IT (architecture) Principles and Standards and you will ensure that the Enterprise Architecture and IT Landscape within your scope and the integration with other Strategic Product Portfolio Architects’ scopes are optimized to maximize business value while guaranteeing the required agility and speed to grow and innovate.

A Day in the Life of a Strategic Product Portfolio Architect – Finance & Legal

  • Facilitate and ensure the use of the IT governing principles within the scope to guide EA decision making. Ensures that the architecture governance activities are applied
  • Lead identification and analysis of key industry and technology trends to assess potential effect on the Stream and facilitates their testing with the Innovation Team, the Solution Architects in the Product Groups and the Product Managers
  • Provide inputs and logical direction to the Office of the CIO and to Product (Group) Managers for channeling the discussion on budget definition and allocation of investments to meet business initiatives while optimizing the Stream Strategic Architecture
  • Build the long-term strategic roadmap for the IT architecture, linked to the Stream product groups, the information flows and the overall Stream priorities and objectives
  • Integrate Stream goals and IS/IT strategy into Stream strategic product architecture and enterprise architecture roadmap (Joint responsibility of head and Tech and Lead Architect along with PGM)
  • Develop relationships together with Product Group Managers with other enterprise leaders to understand current and emerging business needs and opportunities and prepare and deliver comprehensive communications to convey architectural direction and how it aligns with enterprise strategies
  • Work with IT organization to ensure they have the appropriate information and knowledge at hand to be successful in what they do e.g., the Architect Community and supports their professionalization
  • Influence strategic IT vendors to align their strategic direction to Nestlé’s requirements
  • Partner with business and technology subject-matter experts, coaching the Stream Solution Architects, to ensure that the translation of business requirements into technological solutions takes into account the current and target EA for optimal results for both business and IS/IT
  • Analyze the current IT environment to detect critical deficiencies or gaps to strategy and recommend solutions for improvement
  • Supports the design and modeling of tactical architectures for delivery, development, and support of special projects such as mergers, acquisitions, or divestitures

What will make you successful

  • Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, system analysis or a related field of study, or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years of experience in financial solution design
  • Understanding of functional finance models and business practices
  • Knowledge and prior experience of SAP FICO is key
  • Demonstrated experience with business process and performance modeling, benchmarking, and financial analysis. Experience designing, integrating, and managing complex IS/IT solutions, products and platforms
  • Very good understanding of modular architecture design and their integration
  • Ability to work with network and integration experts to find out proper integration pattern that fits the financials as well as business flow
  • Knowledge of business models, operating models, financial models, cost-benefit analysis, budgeting, and risk management related to the scope of the stream.
  • Familiarity with information management practices, system development life cycle management, and EA
  • Knowledge of business ecosystems, SaaS, infrastructure as a service (IaaS), platform as a service (PaaS), SOA, APIs, open data, microservices, event-driven IT and predictive analytics
  • Exposure and understanding of existing, new and emerging technologies, and processing environments.
  • Knowledge of all components of holistic enterprise architecture
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the principles and practices of IT strategic planning
  • Experience with effective communication at different levels in the organization and in English
  • Experience having worked in a global environment and with virtual teams
  • Open technology agnostic mindset
  • Ability and interest to learn new concepts
