Customer Success: Microsoft aspires to help our customers achieve their own digital transformation, leveraging the power of Microsoft Cloud solutions and support offerings. To this end, Microsoft invests in a dedicated Customer Success team that will help Microsoft customers successfully realize their business outcomes.

Customer Engineers (CEs) are deep technical advisors supporting Enterprise customers to deliver unique value by removing blockers to consumption within their given Solution Area. CEs provide technical support including risk assessments and tuning to operate and optimize a customer’s cloud or on-premise environment. The Customer Engineer provides support delivery services as well as technical readiness through a Customer’s Support contract remotely or on-premises.

Responsibilities

Advocate for our customers to help resolve critical and complex technical issues using your technical proficiency combined with your understanding of our customer’s needs. Ability to go technically deep across Azure services and actively seek solutions to customer needs and communicate trends to leadership. Turn Azure customers to Azure fans by to understand their architecture and business, and work to continuously improve their overall Azure support experience. Building a close working relationship with the teams related to assigned service areas to leverage in case of escalations, as well as to drive product improvements. Deeply engage with your customers. Maintain and expand accreditations/certifications and assist in developing best practices for key technologies & products. We are looking to hire a team-worker that has a keen interest in proactively participating in Microsoft Communities, develop IP, help with recruiting activities as well as supporting new joiners to ramp-up and/or coaching/mentoring others.

Qualifications

We are looking for experts with a strong understanding and experience in the Apps and Infrastructure area. If successful you will have the opportunity to work on cutting edge and niche Azure solutions, collaborate strongly with our solution areas and product teams and will have the opportunity to impact customer across Switzerland and the rest of Western Europe.

You Should Bring
  • Solid understanding of digital transformation business drivers, cloud platforms, emerging computing trends
  • Excellent analytical skills as well as communication skills both verbal and written
  • Experience analyzing, troubleshooting, and providing solutions for technical issues
  • Passion for customers and focus on delivering the right customer experience
  • Ability to learn new technology in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience working with enterprise customers on Cloud specific solutions
  • Infrastructure Technologies (e.g. Compute, Storage, Networking, etc.), Migration Techniques, and Resiliency

Technical
  • Some programming/scripting experience (Java, Perl, Ruby, C#, and/or PHP)
  • Experience in one or more automation languages (PowerShell, Python, C#, Open Source)
  • Good understanding of cloud computing technologies across Windows and/or Linux, with demonstrated hands-on experience on one or more of the following domains:
  • Azure Core Platform: Compute, Storage, Networking
  • Data Platform: SQL, Azure DB, Cosmos DB, HD Insights
  • Website troubleshooting experience: IIS, Azure Web Apps, PHP, Apache, Tomcat, WordPress, etc.
  • Identity and Authentication: SSO/Federation, AD/Azure AD etc.
