For an international corporation, we are looking for a

VAT Accountant - Temporary
  • Manage VAT reporting in all EU Direct countries
  • Track and report related to all VAT and Intrastat reporting requirements.
  • Liaise with US team, tax, and other local departments and providers to ensure all requirements are met, drive quality and timeliness of all deliverables
  • Work with the AP and Procurement team to drive process improvements
  • Assist in tracking and developing performance metrics
  • Be expert in all accounting and financial matters relating to VAT, AP
  • Perform all VAT and Intrastat Reporting for all legal entities in the EMEA region
  • Lead effort to align Business expansion projects with local VAT requirements
  • Support the Sales and Enabling functions in answering all VAT questions and challenges
  • Review and advise on the European logistic set up for optimal VAT reporting and cost optimization
  • Create the right Business solution and system environment for VAT to be properly booked and reported (VAT code, plan structure, report, API)
  • Be the point of contact with the VAT external advisor to review and secure any new VAT activity
  • Monitor all yearly EU VAT reimbursement applications
  • Prepare and perform necessary yearly VAT reconciliation in Europe
  • Coordinate and assist with VAT audits, as necessary.
  • Ensure all invoices complies with VAT regulation
  • Provide guidance to Finance teams (COE, AR, AP) on all VAT booking activities
  • Responsible for the verification of the invoice coding in SAP performed by SAP team
  • Perform accurate accounting and VAT controls on PR issued by requestor (GL, CC, VAT rate)
  • Experience in Accounting with exposure to VAT matters
  • Formal accounting qualification
  • University graduate or Brevet in accounting is a plus
  • Previous work experience in a similar position
  • Quickly able to handle/embrace, with high independency levels, all accounting activities
  • Open minded to an international, fast, growing and changing environment
  • Self-starter and deadline driven person
  • Multi-cultural and proficient in English and French. Knowledge of one German is a plus
  • Good knowledge of major integrated systems, knowledge of SAP is preferred
  • Good skills on Excel applications
