Iran remains one of the Middle East countries shaping the trends of the region and seeking to become a more relevant actor on the international stage. Its ability to build up military and proxy influence in various countries goes along with its wishes to become a relevant economic actor. Iran faces international challenges

(e.g. decreasing popular legitimacy of the regime, increasing ideologization of the elite in power, economic crisis) as well as external ones (e.g. sanctions, struggle to find a stable modus vivendi with Western countries). Its regime’s direction and destiny in the middle and long term will play a significant role in the Middle East and affect our clients’ position. In this context, to support our team, and therefore our clients, we are currently seeking freelancers

with expertise on Iran.

Tasks

The freelancers will assist us in:
  • Conducting researches and assessments on issues related to Iranian foreign policy including economic foreign policy (e.g. impact of Iran’s “Look to the East” policy on its foreign policy towards Western countries and possible scenarios for the future; Iran’s support for proxies in the Middle East and impact on relationships with countries of the region);
  • Conducting researches and assessments on issues related to Iranian domestic politics and domestic economic policies (e.g. impact of the relationship between the government and the Supreme leader office on some policies of the country; implication of the new government in the build-up of the so called “resistance economy”);
  • Gathering information on current economic, political, social trends
in Iran using official publications, social media and new platforms in Farsi;
  • Provide timely analysis according to customers’ need
Requirements

A Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 5 years of relevant working experiences. 8 years of relevant working experience might be considered instead.

Essential skill the ideal candidate should have:
  • Fluent in Farsi
  • Knowledge of Iran, its political, social, economic, financial and
security systems as well as its general policies
  • Ability to conduct research
  • Ability to work remote and without direct supervision
  • Ability to work well under pressure and to meet tight deadlines
  • Familiarity with standard software
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Ability to travel occasionally to the Middle East
Preferred Qualification And Experiences
  • Farsi as a mother tongue
  • Experience in working with government entities, as journalist or as
business or political analyst
