JOB DUTIES:
Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal partners. Identify and establish deep relationships with key business decision makers at designated Global Account customers to achieve sales business objectives. Develop a deep understanding of customers operating model, key metrics and equipment ownership strategy to propose aftermarket solutions that align with their enterprise goals. Develop and execute global aftermarket account strategies and establish framework agreements to grow Caterpillar market share with designated Construction Industry Global Accounts. Secure commitment of Caterpillar and Dealer resources to assure continued customer satisfaction.

This position will act as a consultant to various departments within Caterpillar regarding the direction and strategies that key industry leaders will be adopting in the future. Consult with dealers and districts on the subject of aftermarket sales and service support of product to “Global Account” customers. Travel in the field to monitor and resolve issues regarding customer satisfaction and future product needs. Develop an equipment lifecycle plan with customers to forecast aftermarket needs and communicate back to internal partners to ensure appropriate parts availability and minimize customer downtime. Take steps necessary to assure product health in order to maintain and enhance market share growth.


This position makes regular visits to customer headquarters as well as job sites, foreign and domestic, to provide advice and counsel to potential customers. (Global Accountability / Regional Responsibility)

At this level, incumbent ensures that account decision makers have been fully exposed to the features/ benefits available from Caterpillar products, dealer, and marketing before they finalize purchasing decisions. Must communicate effectively across product, industry, dealer and/or customer audiences to gain understanding and acceptance of ideas and recommendations.

Must have ability to work with people from many different backgrounds and cultures, internally and externally, with the appropriate influence and ability to resolve differences. Good human relations skills are required to develop a collaborative/cooperative work relationship with others inside and outside the business unit. Generally requires extensive travel (50%) to understand regional or worldwide business conditions.

Position works independently with considerable freedom of action and is broadly subject to functional policies and ultimate goals. Manages the compliance of its own assignments and keeps up to date with new industry trends, changing technology and regulations affecting the competitive environment.

BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE:Requires a college degree / Bachelors’ or equivalent experience with 12-15 years of specific/similar industry experience in order to gain recognition as a Divisional and company expert. Should have broad business background, specific long-term industry knowledge, aftermarket product knowledge and excellent communication skills. Must be able to deal with sensitive issues, mentor and coach, and/or persuade others on new aftermarket solutions, new technology and distribution methods. The incumbent will either have had previous account management experience and/or aftermarket product experience within the company and/or was a fully contributing member on significant projects and/or teams.
