Global Business Development Manager for Refrigeration Systems (locations: Europe or Eastern US)

In this role you will be responsible for supporting growth with electrical systems for commercial and industrial refrigeration. In particular, growing ABB’s variable speed drives footprint in cold storages, food & beverage processing, pharmaceutical production, logistics centers, retail, and venues. The Global Business Development Manager for commercial and industrial refrigeration solutions will work closely with Global Segment Managers in HVACR and Food & Beverage, Regional and Local Sales Managers, as well as Product and Marketing Management. The routes to market include machine manufacturers, project OEMs, panel builders, system integrators or a combination thereof of these channels. You will work closely with the HVACR organization but also with the Global Food and Beverage team. This role requires a savvy business developer with strong technical acumen. You will succeed if you are the type of person that understands how to work with sales at all levels as well as other internal business stakeholders. The successful candidate will need to be able to create alignment among the internal teams while building strong customer relationships. Having a revenue-based mind-set where you make informed decisions based on revenue targets is also crucial. You must display a high level of professionalism, attention to details, and sense of urgency. *Location is set in Europe or Eastern US*

Your responsibilities

  • Support of delivering double digit growth for commercial and industrial refrigeration solutions from ABB
  • Deliver thought leadership on cooling and refrigeration systems, especially related to energy savings, to social media, trade media and at events. Build brand equity.
  • Participate in the development of the strategic plan for the segments to ensure that the cooling and refrigeration system solution focus is aligned with our technical capabilities and the needs of the market
  • Working closely with product management to improve the portfolio to best support the growth
  • Execute agreed initiatives ensuring compliance with governing laws, customers, and vendors
  • Develop training and sales material, application notes, and OEM specific guidance on the use of variable speed drives to deliver the best system performance
  • Ensuring that all marketing around cooling and refrigeration solutions makes sense and that it is technically correct, to ensure a strong credibility in our external communication
  • Continuously evaluate the customer view to understand and exceed customer expectations
  • Establish and maintain a deep understanding of value proposition for selected strategic customers, segments, and market development

Your background

  • Basic education in electrical and/or automation engineering
  • Minimum 5 years from technical and/or business development roles with industrial and commercial refrigeration systems
  • Strong customer focus and market insight.
  • Ability to influence others without direct line of authority to accomplish goals
  • Ability to travel and work flexible and/or fluctuating work hours as needed
  • Ability to work independently and under own direction and initiative
  • Excellent working knowledge of national and international refrigeration safety requirements and standards
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word)
