Job Description

As our Global Head of Safety you will be responsible to manage and decide on all safety and toxicology aspects for raw materials and finished products (cosmetics) in Consumer R&D and their technical-legal implementation.

Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible to deliver safety assessment of all innovation projects in the portfolio
  • Provide overall safety assessment and support on all raw materials in the use of innovation development as well as finished products release
  • Responsible for releasing raw materials according to global regulations as appropriate
  • Maintain toxicological data of new RMs and update RM database consistency
  • Manage RM data to support Regulatory dossiers and responsible for writing safety section of dossiers
  • Provide critical safety support as appropriate on all external innovations
  • Management on deviations of Galderma Cx product specifications in cooperation with Compliance and Quality
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Life Science (e.g. biology, chemistry or Pharmacist) or PhD in Toxicology or equivalent to be required
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in Skin care/cosmetic industry
  • European Registered Toxicologists (ERT) in the field of risk assessment is mandatory; other fields within ERT such as in-vitro, in-vivo or regulations is a plus
  • Diplomate American Board of Toxicology (DABT) is a plus
  • Experience in cosmetics development is mandatory. Medical Devices or OTC development knowledge is a plus
  • Be able to work effectively in a matrix organization and influence effectively across Project Leader / Regulatory functions
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills at all levels within the organization and strong technical writing capability
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills as well as a strong drive for results
  • Ability to work independently and to take responsibility for own projects/tasks
  • Positivity, flexibility, and adaptability with agile thinking
  • Expert level of oral and written English
