Job Description

In this strategic role, you will report to the Executive vice president of SGS's 'Knowledge' department to develop and lead the implementation of a plan to grow Sustainability & SSG solutions (organically and/or by acquisition) across SGS. Your success will depend on your ability to work within each SGS Group business line to identify and invest in priority Sustainability and ESG services to drive the revenue opportunities across the Group.

More Specifically You Will
  • Develop the overall global strategy for Sustainability & ESG Solutions including a framework through which key markets, specific services and financial targets are set.
  • Lead the development and deployment of a range of solutions relevant to the identified target client groups, using technology and SGS capability to accelerate growth by introducing innovative services and products.
  • Lead the full business development cycle from identification of the opportunity, product development, go to market strategy, sales and operational roll-out across the network and work with the ESG Technical Product team to support these efforts.
  • Manage the global team of Product Managers/Experts, creating a centralized technical team to support the design and delivery of services
  • Work closely with other key stakeholders, such as the regional managers, global segment managers, IT, Legal, International Sales and Marketing.
  • Ensure the correct roll-out and adherence of the delivery across the network
  • Be responsible for overall financial results of ESG & Sustainability Solutions revenue targets.
As a centre of knowledge for Sustainability solutions, lead the process in identifying acquisitions to accelerate growth of this new Strategic Business Segment in conjunction with business managers across the network.

Qualifications

We would expect the ideal candidate to have:
  • Post-graduate degree preferably in a business or sustainability-linked subject
  • Significant experience in developing and/or delivering commercial Sustainability solutions or experience of managing Sustainability in a large Corporate Environment
  • Fluency in English, other widely spoken languages is a plus.
  • Proven ability to manage change and to lead and motivate towards shared objectives
  • Proven ability to coach and train team members
  • A service-oriented mindset
  • A high level of comfort when interacting with all levels of management, consultants and clients
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (highly developed presentation skills)
  • Recognised negotiation and persuasion skills
  • Travel is required, sometimes at short notice.unde
Additional Information

While this position is advertised as being based in the Netherlands, we would consider hiring the right person anywhere in Europe or North America. Remote working is possible.

This position requires global travel up to 30-40% of the time.
