Global Key Account Manager - Consumer (m/f/d) | Schindellegi | req92874

We are looking for solution-driven sales professionals to join us in a Global Key Account Manager role and support and further develop one of our biggest accounts within the consumer sector.

YOUR ROLE

The Global Key Account Manager (GKAM) is a senior leading position within our Sales organisation, responsible for the development of all Kuehne+Nagel services related to the strategic account. This position acts as the lead of business development process from business plan to execution, relationship building to maintenance, process improvements to tracking of results and activities relating in high customer satisfaction and achievement of targets and objectives.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Directly manages Key Account, in accordance with agreed targets, goals and based on company guidelines, eliciting customer needs and selling Kuehne+Nagel offer portfolio;
  • Understands the customers organization, decision making process, business model and business environment;
  • Negotiates rates with customers in alignment with the BU’s and ensures rate sheets are documented and maintained as needed by the BU’s;
  • Actively identify and pursue business development opportunities related to Key Account;
  • Complies with KN sales management processes and systems and ensures correct and timely updates (CRM system);
  • Monitors monthly performance (incl. DSO) against set targets, and ensures immediate actions taken in case of deviations (incl. timely / accurate reporting);
  • Effectively hands over and transitions new business into operations to ensure that customer requirements and Kuehne+Nagel commitments are met;
  • Conducts regular and structured review sessions with assigned customers including; process for continuous improvement and innovation, review of customer strategy and priorities as well as operational excellence delivery.

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES

  • Successfully completed academic degree, ideally with a focus on Logistics & Supply Chain;
  • Minimum 5-10 years of experience in a Sales role, within Supply Chain and Freight Forwarding industry;
  • Knowledge of the footwear and apparel segment (including supply chain);
  • Proven commercial acumen to engage in strategic and consultative account management;
  • Proven business development track record (up and cross selling, solutions/consultative);
  • Solution driven sales approach;
  • Ability to manage internal and external stakeholders at senior level;
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English is expected;
  • Willingness to travel (around 30-50%).
