About The RoleThe Global Learning & Development Director is responsible for designing, implementing and maintaining a global, modern and effective learning strategy and ecosystem. In this dynamic and purposeful role, the incumbent will be working closely with the global VP of Talent, HR and Business leaders to identify organizational capability and skills needs. The incumbent and the L&D team will design and implement hyper relevant, salable blended learning solutions to strengthen and build current and future required capabilities and skills to support implementation of Barry Callebaut’s business strategy. This is a highly visible role, which will work directly with business, functional and HR leaders to define the required leadership, talent and people development learning offerings and foster a Barry Callebaut specific learning culture.Key Responsibilities Include
  • Defining the Leadership, Talent and People Development strategy, governance, practices, processes and solutions, making full use of our organization’s “learning mindset”.
  • Evolve, leverage and scale our unique Schloss Marbach Learning Academy solutions, ensuring alignment with our talent management practice and high impact to the organization.
  • Accountable for the design, execution and continuous improvement of our flagship learning programs, digital learning platforms and initiatives targeted towards leaders, people managers, individual contributors and teams
  • Lead and manage a team of global learning operations and regional learning and talent development experts
  • Collaborate and integrate functional, regional and global learning subject matter experts and and align on strategy, priorities and investment
  • Together with the procurement, identify, select and manage ongoing relationships with external consultants and training providers to ensure that the Barry Callebaut receives effective, state of the art learning solutions at competitive prices
  • Prepare and present regular progress reports, data, analytics and recommendations to HR and leadership teams
  • Collaborate with content owners and subject matter experts in the development and implementation of learning activities
  • Keep up-to-date on Learning best practice, research and innovations and Learning technology and provide thought leadership to HR teams and Leadership teams.
  • Collaborate with HR Operations and IT to continuously enhance the learner experience and efficiency of learning operations
About You
  • Bachelors’ Degree in Business Administration, Psychology, HR Management or equivalent
  • 15+ years working experience gained in global CoE Talent & Development environment leading a global teams of experts in international organization
  • Significant expertise and experience in designing and implementing global scalable blended learning solutions leveraging modern technology ( AI powered LXPs, Digital Learning Platforms)
  • Demonstrated success in developing and implementing progressive talent development strategies in a matrix organization at global / group / regional level
  • Ability to articulate program objectives, activities and policies by aligning HR and COE strategic goals and vision to business needs
  • Sound stakeholder management, being able to influence & drive results beyond formal reporting lines
  • Ability to navigate complexity and change in a digital world, and adopt new approaches to strategic management and decision making
  • Strong knowledge of Google platforms
  • Proven capability of reporting and presenting significant recommendations and strategies to ExCo / LTs.
  • Self-starter, work with a high degree of independence, seeking support appropriately
  • Open, hands on mentality whilst keeping a keen eye on the strategic agenda
  • Proficient in English (written and verbal)
