Global Product Manager

Build, deploy and support the Advanced services (ABB Ability related portfolio, including Asset management and related analytics, Back-up management, Condition and risk assessment, Cloud applications, IoT enablers) for ELDS (Electrification Distribution Solutions) Service as integrated building blocks of the full portfolio. Ensure alignment and deployment of standard solutions for the Global Product Group (GPG) Service and its staff based on global marketing and sales initiatives. Ensure that initiatives are deployed across the organization in line with ELDS Service strategy. You will be reporting to Global ELDS IEC Service Product Manager.

Your responsibilities

  • Leading market intelligence analysis. Understanding and defining current market segmentation and related service positioning. Identifying potential gaps in portfolio, both against competition and new market opportunity.
  • Owning the technical and market specification for the assigned services and determines a business plan that supports a sustainable growth.
  • Leading life cycle management process, analyzing current services, defining and tracking performance metrics, planning appropriate measures and making decisions to ensure current and future market requirements are met and maximize profitability.
  • Acting as interface between external market and internal functions, forecasting volume trends, monitoring costs, giving inputs to maximize competitiveness and profitability.
  • Defining new service plans, sets technical, price, cost and capital expenditure targets. Contributing to development of new portfolios by leading customer need and value analysis, planning the roadmap to create maximum value, follow-up of service portfolio performance.
  • Prioritizing new service development projects with responsibility for achievement of targets.
  • Initiating and driving product market communication strategy, including launch planning and implementation. Managing different channel to market scenarios in coordination with channel partners and Marketing & Sales to ensure best market coverage.
  • Defining customer value proposition per segment and channel and ensuring clear communication to channels and users, to deliver clear service positioning within the portfolio with defined values per service line.
  • Continuously developing product management processes and tools, including interfaces to other key functions and develops sales and tendering tools to support the Sales organization. Initiating creation of external and internal product training modules and programs.

Your background

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent qualification
  • Experience in Product Management, Marketing & Sales or Research & Development
  • Work in multicultural environment, self-confident, diplomatic, energetic, open mindedness
  • Cloud, digital and IoT related competence
  • Experience with electrification services would be an asset
  • Strong communication and leadership skills and ability to guide, coach and mentor others
  • Should be an analytical and conceptual thinking, strategic thinking
  • Entrepreneurial thinking and acting, decisiveness, result orientation
  • A collaborative, solutions-oriented approach, with strong communication and relationship building skills with colleagues of other departments
  • Fluency in English language both written and verbal
