Purpose of the job
Lead and manage highly complex and multi-year Global Scientific Engagement programs with the purpose of create external awareness, understanding and acceptance of PMIs vision & transformation and tobacco harm reduction, specifically communicated and sharing our science and the impacts smoke-free product on public health. Mobilize and manage cross-functional internal and external (Agencies & third-party providers) teams and address multiple stakeholders within and beyond Global Communication such as Life Sciences, External Affairs, Product Development, Consumer Insights, etc.

Accountabilities
  • Define and develop together with Global Communications and Life Sciences engagement strategies according to business and regulatory requirements to advance the dialog on tobacco harm reduction science and PMIs smoke-free future. Define and develop innovative strategies to support novel collaborative and engagement opportunities that further the scientific awareness and acceptance within and outside the company. Drive strategic opportunities, develop business cases and operational plans together with internal and external stakeholders identifying & leveraging opportunities to drive cross-functional collaboration and alignment.
  • Working with the Regional Heads of Scientific Engagement to realize and align strategies and deliverable to optimize the scientific engagement activities across markets, regionals and the global functions. Identify and engage with internal stakeholders from different functions (markets & regions, Life Sciences, External Affairs, Consumer Insights, Product Development), to identify opportunities to integrate scientific engagement within the strategic engagement planning. Lead the effort to define & develop a framework to streamline the process and accomplish the execution of the engagement strategy as planned.
  • Mobilize internal and external resources, budgets and priorities to create project and program teams to realize the execution of a program/project.
  • Planning, delivery and management of program timing, resources and budget to ensure that the initiative is driven to successful on time execution and completion.
  • Ensure cross-functional alignment within the Scientific Engagement team, but also coordinate between Scientific Engagement and the broader Global Communication, Life Science, External Affairs, Consumer Insights, and ensure organizational support for the execution of the plans. Report program status to program advisors and management.
  • To identify, develop and maintain strategic partnerships with business partners, scientific associations or organizations, and Key Opinion Leaders.
  • Actively and quickly resolve program/project related issues. Identify and resolve conflicts at Program Team and functional team level.

Who we are looking for:
  • University degree, minimum BSc or equivalent in a scientific discipline
  • 7+ years Program Project management with multi-/cross-function team management
  • 5+ years working in a global organization and product assessment Program Management
  • 3+ years working to support scientific research and engagement (Pharma, Device, etc.)
  • Advanced knowledge in pharmaceutical medicine, clinical and epidemiological sciences.
  • Strong understanding and proven knowledge in scientific research and development.
  • Advanced Project Management skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of the process/principles and regulatory and business requirements.
