What does a Global Senior Strategic Marketing Manager do, you ask?

We are looking for a confident and highly motivated marketing professional to be a key contributor to the growth of our €3B global service business by leading the marketing strategy development, brand positioning and growth programs for our global fire service segment within Siemens Smart Infrastructure. The role of the Global Senior Strategic Marketing Manager is to lead all strategic marketing functions targeting B2B customers across several regions and key vertical markets. This position plays a critical role in accelerating service growth across all global market segments by maximizing go-to-market and positioning strategies, applying progressive marketing tactics as well as collaborating effectively with key partners across various regions and countries. This position will also serve as the global interface into our region Europe services team.

The position will report to the Global Chief Service Marketing Officer and interacts and works closely with business segment & service portfolio leadership teams around the world. The service business is a high visibility segment within Siemens Smart Infrastructure. Candidate must be highly motivated, very focused, and comfortable with operating in a process-driven environment with strong reporting matrixes.

This position is ideally located in Zug, Switzerland, but can also be based in any major city in Switzerland, Austria or France (regular travel to Zug expected).

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead development of global fire business marketing strategy in close collaboration with segment & portfolio leads in regional units.
  • Strategic partner to business leadership; connect and analyze data points from multiple sources (customers, field, competitors, business) to support development of growth and go-to-market strategy for global & regional fire business
  • Manage and execute complex primary and secondary voice of customer research projects to identify business growth opportunities & growth inhibitors to be addressed, guide portfolio roadmaps and market positioning; facilitate global customer councils in collaboration with regions
  • Scan market to identify and analyze industry trends and technology advancements; identify opportunities to drive service innovation
  • Analyze the competitive market to identify new threats and opportunities; provide recommendations based on fact-based research and business case development
  • Identify, develop and execute service marketing programs & market packages to ensure profitable growth and expansion of service business.
  • Develop customer value driven content for target customer segments to drive differentiation in market place, including service use cases
  • Develop and articulate brand positioning and competitive differentiation to guide communications activities
  • Develop strategy for global / regional demand generation campaigns & collaborate with global communications team to drive execution
  • Contribute to annual marketing planning and budgeting
  • Expert understanding and application of marketing concepts, methods and tools

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years experience in marketing or marketing related role
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related field, advanced degree preferred
  • Unique blend of business and technical savvy; previous experience in the field of smart buildings, advanced analytics or remote services preferred
  • Ability to effectively work with and influence global cross functional teams of diverse stakeholders & cultures
  • Strong customer focus; ability to develop customer specific value propositions
  • Big-picture vision, and the drive to make that vision a reality; highly creative
  • Strong analytical skills; proficient in developing compelling business cases, including financial justifications
  • Ability to work in complex, fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously with competing deadlines
  • Self-driven and resourceful to achieve goals independently as well as work well in groups; results oriented mindset, takes initiative
  • Strong program / project management skills with excellent communication & interpersonal skills
  • Experience in marketing services / digital services in a B2B environment is a plus
  • Willingness and ability to travel, both domestic and internationally (15% travel)
