Role

The Governance unit (GOV) at the ISO Central Secretariat contributes to the achievement of the objectives of the ISO Strategy by providing high quality services to the ISO Officers (President, Vice-Presidents, Treasurer and Secretary-General) and ISO governing bodies (General Assembly, Council and its standing committees, President’s Committee, and advisory groups).

Key responsibilities

As part of the GOV team, your role is to contribute to the achievement of the team objectives. The key responsibilities of the role are:

  • Providing governance secretariat services for the Commercial Policy Advisory Group (CPAG) and the Information Technology Strategy Advisory Group (ITSAG).
  • Drafting meeting reports for CPAG and ITSAG and, when required, reports from meetings of other ISO governance groups.
  • Drafting and proof-reading governance working documents (incl. for CPAG and ITSAG and when required for other governance groups);
  • Ensuring administrative support and assisting in the preparation of ISO governance body meetings, in collaboration with other colleagues and, in particular CPAG and ITSAG (not limitative).
  • Researching information from various sources for analysis or studies in relation to issues considered by the ISO governance groups;
  • Contributing to the follow-up on the implementation of General Assembly and Council Resolutions as well as any actions agreed by CPAG and ITSAG;
  • Contributing to any other governance activities and projects.

Reports to: Governance Director

Qualification and Experience

  • Previous experience in governance-related (e.g. board) activities and in dealing with sensitive and confidential documents;
  • University degree in social sciences, economics, law, languages, etc (not limitative);
  • Excellent knowledge of English (C2 level minimum). Fluency in French is considered an asset;
  • Ability to write clearly and precisely in English – reports, letters, working documents, meeting minutes;
  • Proficiency with IT tools (e.g. MS-Office, SharePoint, Zoom).

  • Good written and oral communication skills.
