Group Accountant

Job Summary

This position is within the Group Accounting & Consolidation team and has a global responsibility within the world’s leading cargo and ground handling company. The main responsibility of the Group Accounting & Consolidation Team is to ensure timely monthly, quarterly and annual reporting under IFRS which forms the basis for internal reporting to the “Group Executive Management and Shareholders” as well as external reporting in the form of quarterly interim and year-end financial statements. As part of an experienced Group Accounting & Consolidation team you will be jointly responsible for the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual closing as well as for the quarterly and the annual financial statements under IFRS. In addition, you will be involved in the ad-hoc tasks and challenging accounting projects.


Job Responsibility

  • Involvement in monthly, quarterly and annual closing process under IFRS:
    • in consolidation process (Actual, Forecast and Budget) in a Group of more than 100 legal entities globally.
    • Perform monthly, quarterly and annual tasks to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
    • Inform and support local teams in accounting topics.
    • Assist in maintenance of accounting policies and chart of accounts.
  • Involvement in quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements under IFRS:
    • Assist in the preparation of the consolidated financial statements.
    • Assist in the review of the quarterly and year-end reporting packages.
  • Assist in projects to further improve the quality of financial information in consolidation system and process.
  • Assist in ad-hoc tasks and participate in projects.
  • General support within Group Accounting & Consolidation team.
  • Reporting directly to the Team Leader Group Accounting.

Qualifications & Competencies

  • University degree (or similar) with specialization in finance and/or accounting.
  • Up to 3 years of experience in an audit firm or in a similar position at group level in an international business environment.
  • Basic knowledge of IFRS and consolidation process required.
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office (especially Excel).
  • Ability and willingness to work under demanding deadlines.
    • A head for figures and analytical thinking.
    • Team oriented and independent working style is a must.
  • Resilience, determination, accuracy and reliability.
  • Fluency in English is required. Other languages are an advantag.
