For our Site in Visp, we are looking for a Head EHS Biologics (m/w/d). The Head EHS Biologics is responsible for creating and implementing the future Lonza concept for safety culture and safety management systems. The Head EHS Biologics is acting as role model and inspiring the team and associates with innovative and inclusive safety programs. Always forward looking and managing today’s and future legal requirements. Requirements and programs are implemented with an entrepreneurial and cost efficiency mindset.

Key responsibilities:

  • Responsible for EHS Biologics, specific focus on safety culture and the contact person for all Biologics EHS topics.
  • Ensure compliance with EHS regulations and Lonza standards.
  • Develop and implement EHS concepts, programs and risk mitigation strategies together with the relevant stakeholders for Biologics.
  • Lead a team of EHS specialists to establish and maintain the next generation of EHS for Biologics.
  • Provide with the team governance and oversight for all EHS relevant topics, including support for customer audits.
  • Steer with the team of EHS managers and specialists the coordination of incident investigations and corrective action plans and activities.
  • Provide guidance and act as partner for all associates and stakeholders in Biologics regarding EHS topics.
  • Act as a point of escalation for his team of EHS specialists, while aligning with and leveraging the expertise of the core EHS team.
  • Analyze EHS performance metrics & trends and define areas of improvement.

Key requirements:

  • Safety Engineer (Sicherheitsingenieur) EKAS / SUVA or Master’s Degree in Pharmaceutical Technology, Chemistry, Process Engineering, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Microbiology or equivalent
  • Fluent in English, German is an advantage
  • Profound work experience in a similar position within Bio-manufacturing or within the pharmaceutical industries
  • Proven process understanding in Biopharma manufacturing (cGMP & safety aspects)
  • Very strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong presentation skills for developing and delivering training to elevate knowledge, skills and behaviors at multiple levels of the organization
  • Inspiring and creative personality
  • Dealing with high level of ambiguity using coaching skills
