Head of Application Management

In this role you will be responsible in driving definition and implementing application specific strategies together with relevant stakeholders. Identifying and prioritizing opportunities across the different applications. Driving creation of application-specific value propositions based on current offerings. Guiding the development of new offerings based on identified customer needs within the different applications. Making available of best practices, tools and expertise required for sales units to select the right offerings and communicate the value proposition effectively.

Your responsibilities

  • Strategy: Defining and implementing application strategy for profitable growth. Identifying current strongholds and growth opportunities, prioritize initiatives, outline aspirations and develop and maintain action plans.
  • Targets: Defining key targets (e.g. volume, prices, portfolio mix, etc.) and leverages standard reporting tools to accurately track the progress.
  • Market analysis: Understanding and defining current market segmentation and related product positioning, monitors market and technology trends within the application. Benchmarking competitive offerings and strategy. Identifying customer value proposition and derives potential gaps in portfolio, both against competition and new market opportunity. Providing appropriate market information for long- to mid-term decision making.
  • Marketing: Ensuring ABB’s value proposition and product positioning for the target application is developed and well communicated (internally and externally). Supporting local Sales organizations to ensure they are able to effectively select the right offering and communicate the respective value propositions.
  • New Offering: Defining new offering needs based on application strategy, sets customer requirements and price targets. Together with product managers, defining and maintaining portfolio roadmap.
  • Competency development and sharing of know-how: Identifying best practices and existing know-how related to the application within the organization, ensures effective sharing. Identifying the need for external and internal training, supports the development of the respective modules and programs across the organization.
  • People leadership and development: Ensuring (with HR Manager support) that the area of responsibility is properly organized, staffed, skilled and directed. Coaching, motivating and developing direct and indirect subordinates within HR policies.

Your background

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business Administration
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in product management, sales or marketing
  • Excellent knowledge of LV motors applications and markets and customer needs
  • Strong results orientation and strategic thinking
  • Strong written and spoken communication skills in English
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Ability to develop strong international network within the organization and collaborate with key stakeholders
