Because of an internal move, we are looking for a successor for our Head of Business Unit Industry/Utility. You will lead the controlling organization of the Business Unit. The controllers of the Business Unit entities are reporting either directly or functionally through a dotted line to you. You will be reporting directly to the Divisional CFO and through a dotted line to the Head of the Business Unit.

You will be acting as a business partner, to the head of the Business Unit and other key functions. Creating the required transparency to enable sound and consistent performance measurement of the whole Business Unit, Product Management, and Business Development and Innovation groups. Supporting them in taking commercially relevant decisions and actively guiding them in key projects. On the other hand, you will be leading and developing the Controlling organization, driving for transparency, process harmonization, and a strong commercial focus of the business activities and as well as managing the financial results including the corresponding reporting entities, ensuring compliance and thriving for continuous process improvements.

Your tasks:

• The annual budget planning process with a strong focus on Innovation, and commercial activities
• Strong involvement in CapEx planning processes
• Driving the monthly and annual Closing process of the entities
• Cash and performance management of all commercial and innovation activities
• Developing and reporting Financial Performance KPIs
• Executing ad-hoc analysis
• Driving the development and the implementation of the Innovation Strategy (e.g. portfolio decisions, make or buy products, M&A involvement)
• Continuous improvement of all controlling activities (e.g. global reporting, support / sign-off financial impact calculations)
• Developing and reporting on Innovation, Business Development, Marketing, and Commercials Performance KPIs
• Involved in due diligence work

Your profile:

• A Bachelor’s, Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, or equivalent
• At least 8 years of experience as a Controller in an Industrial environment with complex market and distribution structures with exposure to Project Controlling, Marketing Controlling, Business Planning, Market Research, and Pricing
• Experience in leading global teams
• Good experience in all MS Office tools and SAP
• Change Management skills allow one to effectively drive improvement and standardization initiatives
• Quick-minded, critical thinker, and reliable
• Willingness to travel, as required, to meet the organization’s needs
