Your mission:
Reporting to the Senior Vice President Global Manufacturing Network (GMN) and as a member of the GMN Leadership Team, you will ensure the TechOps External Manufacturing Networks (Third Party Manufacturers/Contract Manufacturing Organisations) are functioning as a world-class manufacturing and supply organization, driving related initiatives and ensuring execution/implementation via an efficient and aligned Governance and Performance management infrastructure. As the leader of the External Manufacturing Team, you are responsible for leading, developing and maintaining the relationship with Ferring’s major External/Third Party Manufacturers, driving related operational and strategic improvements, and ensuring execution/implementation under an efficient and agile External Manufacturing Relationship Management program.
Main responsibilities:
Lead the External Manufacturing Team including virtual teams and stakeholders.
Manage Ferring external manufacturing network and ensure strong business performance (quality, delivery, cost)
Oversee production operations at EMN entities, in collaboration with the appointed (G)QA, SNO, MTs, Procurement and Controlling experts. Facilitate continuous performance improvement developing, measuring and tracking KPIs.
Define and lead the EMN governance and oversight process.
To be the key interface / contact between Ferring and the supplier and thus facilitate bi-directional communication. This will be at executive, strategic, tactical and operational levels.
Manage the contract/relationship with the supplier and ensure that the Quality, Delivery and Cost performance is improved and maintained. Define and execute the necessary improvement plans.
Understand and execute mitigation actions for quality and supply risks to ensure continued reliable supply. Follow-up on supplier capacity and investment plans
Develop the supplier strategy, ensuring alignment with Ferring Manufacturing Strategy.
Complete periodic supplier performance reviews.
Develop the relationship to drive process robustness, value creation, and a robust partnership whilst ensuring Regulatory compliance, GMP compliance and highest quality standards as ultimate priorities.
Participate in the evaluation of TPMs as part of the selection process and to due diligence teams.
Required Competencies and Experiences:
At least 15 years experience in leadership positions in operations in pharmaceutical/biotechnology of which at least 15 years in management within one or more of the following areas: production, technical support, technology transfer, Supply Chain, QA, Operational Excellence.
Bachelor degree in Engineering, Lifesciences or equivalent
Excellent working knowledge of QA, cGMP and the Pharmaceutical Regulatory framework
Excellent working knowledge of Pharmaceutical Supply Chain and Operations.
Ideally experience in Lean Manufacturing, 6 Sigma or other modern production methodology, continuous improvement mind-set
Exceptional customer service orientation
Strong Leadership presence – able to represent Ferring
