The site in Visp, Switzerland is growing and for our Biologics organization, we are currently looking for a Head of MSAT Microbial in Ibex® Solutions, our recently launched unique biological manufacturing and development concept. In this role, you will lead a team of MSAT (Manufacturing Science & Technology) process experts responsible for the successful transfer, scale up, supervision and optimization of biopharma processes into the different manufacturing plants. You will be also accountable for the performance and results of the assigned area.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a team of process experts for different Biopharma manufacturing technologies within microbial operation in Visp with full responsibility for all aspects of human resource , incl. resource and vacation planning of the assigned team members
  • As a member of the Microbial Operations Leadership Team responsible for all aspects related to MSAT
  • Planning & Supervision of MSAT activities to ensure successful process transfer into the manufacturing plants and ensuring that the processes are delivering the required products safely, timely, cost effective with the required quality
  • Ensure and manage the interfaces to Manufacturing, Plant Engineering, QA, and QC and other sites related to MSAT topics
  • Developing department goals and strategy and prioritize with respect to overall goals of Lonza, the Lonza microbial BU, the Visp site and the global MSAT organization
  • Responsible for the development and implementation of standardized MSAT procedures and processes
Key Requirements
  • Master degree or PhD in Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering, or related field
  • Substantial experience in the area of biopharma manufacturing and / or process development, preferable in the area of Mammalian or Microbial Manufacturing
  • Deep understanding of Bioprocess technology
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Structured, focused and well-organized working attitude
  • Open-minded for new ideas and suggestions
  • Solution-oriented
  • Fluency in English and German
