The Alpiq Head of Program and Project Delivery is responsible for assuring project delivery based on mature and consistent project management in all domains. As such, the head has to make sure that best practices are consistently applied and project leaders are coached and equipped with state-of-the art project management methods and excellent skills. In addition, the head is also responsible for managing the external workbench for additional resources. To excel at this position, the head of program and project delivery needs to be a well-organized leader, excellent communicator and outstanding coordinator also in the context of complex project/program environment. The role reports directly to Alpiq’s CTTO/CIO.

Your Main Responsibilities
  • Set up and further develop the project management and delivery approaches across Alpiq (agile and classical)
  • With full commitment and accountability, ensure standards are continuously sustained and improved both within the internal teams, and with partner organizations and suppliers
  • Train the IT resources in project management and delivery
  • Take overall responsibility for the successful delivery of IT projects and programs
  • Manage effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of IT projects and programs
  • Manage the external workbench and ensure that the standards and processes are applied
  • Align resource allocation within head of domain units (i.e., sales & origination, trading, energy mgmt., group services) based on changing requests
  • Ensure projects are delivered quickly
  • During project delivery ensure project managers re-evaluate IRR, NPV, & years payback calculations at each stage gate, ensure stage gate check lists are followed with appropriate approvals and co-ordination with various IT boards, strong change management governance with the relevant change advisory boards, ensure user adoption, and measure net promoter score of implemented solution
Your Qualifications
  • Min. 10 years of professional experience in successful project/program management in acoss-funcational working environment
  • Min. 8 years of experince in leading highly qualified employees and interdisciplinary projects and project teams
  • Strong methodological competence in lean portfolio management
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering large-scale IT projects and programs
  • Results-oriented approach with a strong history of delivery (on-time, to-quality and in-budget)
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, commitment and resilience particularly in a complex project/program environment
  • A systematic, disciplined and analytical approach to all aspects of the role
  • Strong-willed and able to debate objectively and influence effectively
  • Ability to manage key relationships and secure commitment on actions
  • Be effective in engaging and co-ordinating multi-disciplined resources internally and externally
