HSSE Training Program Manager

Ensuring that ABB HSE staff are continuously trained and equipped with the most up-to-date knowledge in their field is a key to support their safety as well as their professional development. The new Training Program Manager is responsible for ensuring all Turbocharging Local Divisions be successful in HSSE/SA competence management and develop the HSE and other functions to become a learning organization and apply HSSE/SA best practice principles in their respective roles. With the support of Turbocharging Division central HSE Team and global network of HSE Specialists, you will provide learning solutions to the business, close training and competence gaps and align functional performance with expectation of business and aspirations of ABB. You will act as a Trainer and support others in developing their training skills. In this role you will be reporting to the Division HSE Manager.

Your responsibilities

  • Collate Turbocharging Division HSSE/SA training needs in HSSE/SA training matrix ensuring the training strategy, development and continual improvement of listed trainings
  • Design and development of HSSE/SA Training courses; Support HSE central function with developing necessary training materials and Local Divisions with coordination of training planning and delivery
  • Identify and collaborate with internal and external training program developers to arrange the availability of various training delivery methods including Virtual, instructor led and e-learning, in alignment with business risk profile
  • Collaborate and consult cross-functionally within Turbocharging Divisions to understand the challenges and training needs of all functions including Operations, QHSE, Engineering, Projects, Service and Procurement & Logistics etc., integrating HSE into their existing training programs, and inviting their participation in the development of HSSE/SA trainings
  • Coordinate internal and external language translations of training material
  • Manage and drive continuous improvement in Turbocharging for functional competency assessment (FCA) landscape available to HSSE/SA professionals
  • Engage and collaborate with HR, Quality, IS and global HSE team to further improve HSSE/SA FCA process, ensuring core HSE competencies are efficiently assessed and built upon through SMART actions in development plans.
  • Develop key high-risk activity competency assessment programs verifying and recording the competence of Turbocharging employees and contractors in consultation with subject matter experts within the Division
  • Support implementation of the efficient and standardized global training management tool. Support with continuous improvement of training administration, including reporting. Cooperate closely with local training coordinators
  • Support and develop initiatives, including the safety awards, sustainability week, HSE workshops, global HSE conference calls; internal and external HSE communication in close cooperation with MarCom
  • Maintain Global HSE calendar for trainings and events
  • Participate in external training and competence development webinars, trainings etc. with the objective of integrating best-in-class innovative and effective training solutions within Turbocharging training programs
  • Support Travel Security Management and Health & Wellbeing initiatives
  • Support maintenance and continues improvement of Turbocharging-tailored and ISO-compliant Management System for HSE & Security
  • Support and contribute to the Turbocharging Division HSE function carve-out as a consequence of ABB disinvestment decision
  • Training concept development for Crisis Management and Security

Your background

  • Minimum 5 years proven HSE experience supporting industries in manufacturing and service-orientated business environments
  • Demonstrated impact in project management and/or experience within the Service Industry
  • Yellow belt Lean6Sigma certificate would be an advantage
  • Familiar with best practice competency and training methodologies
  • International Diploma in Health and Safety or equivalent degree
  • IOSH Certified Trainer or equivalent qualification as educated trainer
  • Demonstrated knowledge of competency assessment process would be an advantage
  • Knowledge of e-learning techniques and products would be an asset
  • Fluent in English, other languages are an added advantage
  • Very good communication skills
