Your role

Are you at your best when coordinating and collaborating with others? Do you like to interact? As a Infrastructure
& Platforms Mission Control Rep your responsibilities will be:

  • have and provide a production overview across the bank for products and services covered by Infrastructure and Platforms sector
  • be the central point of contact to provide an overview of the production health for Infrastructure, Platforms & Security estate
  • proactively monitor the environment at a top level for abnormalities using telemetry and perform more focused investigations when necessary
  • correlate cross-stream issues/events on weekdays and weekends
  • be responsible to manage and coordinate large infrastructure events within the region (Network upgrades, Data Center maintenance etc..)
  • be proactive and help to prevent incidents from escalating, by being in regular contacts with the I&P teams and having an awareness of what is happening in our space
  • provide regular updates on our production status in daily calls
  • drive telemetry to identify potential issues to enable Mission Control to be proactive
  • run and support incident management within I&P when needed
  • actively manage SEV 1 to 3 Major Incidents
  • manage SEV 4 incidents when they have the potential to escalate
  • overview of all SEV 4s and 5s, their current state and related escalations
  • trends and abnormal volumes of SEV 5s and unstructured requests
  • control and ensure the quality of incident communications when possible
  • have an overview of all incident notifications released within the I&P space
  • provide quality content for cross-stream major incident notifications
  • be accountable for the quality and hygiene of all stream incident notifications
  • establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with functional counterparts of the other TOC streams
  • perform analytics by collecting real time data, identify trends and pro-actively resolve and manage issues/events before they become incidents
  • trend Incident and Problem ticket data to ensure that we have effective Problem management in terms of reducing Incident occurrence

Your team

As part of I&P as the Mission Control team, you will be the point of contact for everything related to our production
environment. You will work very closely with the core team of the TOC Mission Control and also have to
collaborate closely with the other TOC teams. You will be working in collaboration with the different technology
support organizations and business stakeholders across the bank.

Your expertise

  • experience in IT Infrastructure management for large organizations.
  • able to translate technical information for non-technical people.
  • excellent communication and collaboration skills that allow you to interact at all levels
  • experience in managing IT incidents in a global, multi-stream environment is preferable
  • knowledge of diverse technologies is an advantage
  • knowledge of telemetry & monitoring
  • Cloud knowledge to be able to understand services and technology currently being rolled out in UBS
  • you are enthusiastic with diverse skills, analytical and Client focused
  • you are excellent team player with pro-active, positive personality and "can-do" attitude
  • ability to multi-task and prioritize incidents accordingly
  • self-driven and able to build important relationships with different teams
