The Western Europe Retail & CPG Industry Team, part of the WE Area HQ Enterprise Commercial team, is accountable for leveraging deep industry and technical expertise in Retail, to enable field sales teams and partners throughout the twelve Western European subsidiaries to deliver relevant, customized, industry solutions and services, built on a secure, integrated cloud platform, to empower our customers to digitally transform their businesses. We are looking for a senior Business Leader to lead the Retail Industry team focused on a mission to accelerate the digital transformations of our customers in key Industries and enable customer success across Western Europe.

As the Retail & CPG Industry Leader you will be responsible for innovating, developing and executing the company’s strategy across Western Europe, a business spanning across 12 Countries. You will envision, develop and drive business transformation from the Area HQ throughout the subsidiaries’ industry-aligned teams. You will be responsible for positioning the relevant industry business for value creation, increased market share, and long-term growth.

As the Retail & CPG Industry Leader you will bring a deep industry knowledge and a wealth of experience serving clients across the Industry, along with the capability to motivate and inspire the organization on a daily basis. In addition to managing the core business, you will drive strong relationships with senior Industry leaders and provide strong business leadership while building and fostering a growth-oriented environment, enabling operations and delivery engine. You will lead a team of highly skilled industry executives and be a integral part of the EC area HQ leadership team.

You will work both across the Area HQ team, with the subsidiary team and leadership and directly with customers and partners.

Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Enable the field teams drive revenue growth and sales execution, leveraging technology and establishing a go-to-market plan to meet market requirements and challenges in an increasingly complex industry environment.
  • Prioritize success factors for the business units moving forward, align the organization behind those drivers of success and inspire and guide leaders in the subs to accomplish the company’s goals.
  • Further strenghten senior-level customer relationships, demonstrating clear commercial orientation and a commitment to generating growth and value for both the company and client organizations by recognizing and accordingly addressing critical client needs and expanding existing relationships.
  • With your team provide strong thought leadership and create the most efficient and effective organizational structure and disciplined operational process for the organization. Attract top-tier industry talent and develop a high-performing team that is well-aligned with the business strategy moving forward.
  • Effectively energize the organization, consistently communicating, educating and motivating our People and the market on Microsoft’s value proposition and trajectory.
  • Provide strong leadership on new business creation and new customer wins, including budgets, timelines, competitive analysis and strategy and successfully drive the business into a competitive market.
  • Embed a culture of client focus, collaboration, and transparency to reinforce an innovative and performance-driven work environment with a high level of accountability.
Partner closely with other senior leaders within Microsoft and engage in ongoing discussion that will drive success in competitive positioning, market awareness, and customer retention globally.

Qualifications

Requirements (Education, key experiences, skills, and knowledge):
  • General Management Experience: Proven success as a P&L leader at scale in a relevant organization with requisite strategic skills, operational discipline and financial acumen to effectively manage a business of this size and complexity. Experience in periods of business turnaround and/or transformation, as well as during periods of growth.
  • Industry Expertise and Relationships: Extensive Retail & CPG industry vertical experience.
  • Growth Orientation: Career trajectory that includes significant sales leadership, demonstrated record of forging strong relationships across the relevant Industry and a proven ability to drive revenue and profitability growth through sales excellence, market coverage and account development.
  • Digital Technology Leadership: Demonstrated leadership in innovative technology environments, including experience developing next generation solutions and/or driving solutions modernization, as well as, working with clients in a context that is transformational and digitally-led.
